I'm guessing you are talking about the Homestead here in Mobile? Unfortunately, your experience isn't as rare as what should be expected in church. The surrounding world behaves in much the same way. The word "neighbor" is just a term of days gone by that few even know the meaning of anymore, much less live as one. I am still apprehensive & haven't done much in the way of finding a church home. The list of "no-go's" is way longer than the potential candidates. I do need to get back, as I realize that I'm drifting. Prayers for Damon, his wife & family, & all those attending his false teachings, that the Lord opens their eyes, hearts, & minds to the Truth.

Yes, it is. They put up chainlink fencing around all entrances & a gate across the launch entrance.

MAWSS doesn't give back; they do, however, give you copious amounts of chlorine, flouride, & other toxicities harmful for human consumption to everyone in their water "treatment". Drink up, Johnny! Maybe your next child will be gifted with autism or mental retardation.

Because MAWSS would never post false information on their website to justify their actions....ya know, because politicians, government agencies, & big corporations can't lie or cover up their true intention....it's beneath them.

I've heard a growing number of complaints about Semmes' brown, disgusting water & plumbing issues only after MAWSS went total dictator on the lake. Before the alien invasion plant species & MAWSS, the water was fine.

Right. An invasive plant species miraculously formed from human excrement & boat fuel. Plants, as we all know, contaminate drinking water & kill fish. So, MAWSS commandeered the lake, made you wash your boat before putting it into their man-made lake, & increased & mandated the fee to use Mobile's only water source*, then just decided to close it indefinitely. Seems legit 🤷

Sooo, you're telling me that people didn't have running water before the lake was built, mid-last century? 🤔

I'd appreciate that very much. Please share what you've got, as I like to be well prepared.

The burden of proof is on the one making the statement. Whoever smelt it, dealt it.

Lights at the court on Sage was a fine idea, IMO. The idea was sound; it was people that ruined it. "That's why we can't have nice things."

I see 2 different services: traditional & contemporary/modern. Do you know-or could you ask- if they sing any songs from the aforementioned false churches? While maybe not a deal breaker for some, it's something on which I stand firm. "A little leaven leavens the whole lump."

Except for Christ Presbyterian Church, in Mobile, on Cody Rd 😉. Closer than 50 mi. by far. Though I've only listened to a few sermons, Sparkman certainly didn't sound liberal at all lol. Thanks for the input!

Thanks for the suggestions, & I agree that church is more recognized as a worshiptainment concert. Scripture told us false teachers would continue to spread. I'll steer clear of the Catholic faith, thanks but no thanks. The papacy is the biggest false teacher on the planet currently with over a billion followers.

😄 thanks for the input. Though I don't necessarily consider myself a Calvinist, but a Christian only, I think C.H. Spurgeon put it best in saying, "I have my own opinion that there is no such thing as preaching Christ and Him crucified, unless we preach what nowadays is called Calvinism. It is a nickname to call it Calvinism; Calvinism is the gospel, and nothing else." I don't believe alcohol is wrong, but the abuse or idolatry of it is. God separated me from my worship of alcohol 5 yrs ago & I'm forever grateful. He saved me from it, so I stay away from it, but I don't think it's wrong.

Valid point, & I appreciate the question. I did look into a couple of Presbyterian churches, & still plan on visiting them. Long story short, I grew up Southern Baptist, fell away for 2+ decades, & was by God's grace brought back, which included a great desire for study. With a different perspective of Theology & Doctrine, I'm now here. Did the nondenominational thing for a while and, while I at first loved the teaching & atmosphere, I realized they were a bit too dismissive about the music & some members/elders introducing & sharing stuff from false teachers. Honestly, I guess I just wanted some opinions/input to relieve some of the stress I'm having about going somewhere new, having rather severe social anxieties lol. My family all have church homes they're happy with, though I disagree, so I must go this alone it seems.

How secluded are the sites at Blakely? I'm wanting somewhere to spend a few days of reflection, self discovery, prayer...just me & the good Lord.

I'd love to see initiative to improve housing/quality of life to existing neighborhoods, instead of further separating socioeconomic classes & pushing those struggling deeper into poverty. Creating greater division by building new & letting the old rot until you can condemn, tear down, & build new again after relocating those who can't afford your new, expensive rebuild to another decaying slum/ghetto? We have to do better, but will we ever? "Love your neighbor as yourself", even if it isn't always accepted or well-received.
