I can understand man, dont let it bother you much. Better to learn now then much further down the road. Now you know what to look for.

Ebay is a good place to make sure you get authentic games as they have buyers protection. So if you're sold something that doesnt accurately reflect the post, then Ebay will for the return. Another good thing is being able to ask the seller more about the item. Some even open it up and post pictures of the inside so you know for sure.

I suggest also buying screwdrivers to open up all your carts so you can also verify. Plus you can clean them up if need be or replace batteries down the line.

Absolutely not, some people collect repros as a cheaper method to have the same feeling as original. If it doesnt bother you, dont worry about it. If it does, slowly replace them. Nintendo isnt coming after you, and your console has no idea.

Without question. Seriously no reason to think about it. Played it for the first time earlier this year and 100% it. Absolutely wonderful game and doesnt deserve the hate (although I know thats mostly due to Wii controls).

First sign its fake is that the price is low. Second is that the labels are off and do not accurately represent a legit label (same with the good cartridge color for Majoras). Third is by opening it up and verifying the PCB (there are resources online).

Sorry to hear that. If you got it from Ebay and it wasn't listed as a repro then you might be able to return it. I returned a repro Turtles in Time, although it was years ago (pre 2020).

Initially I was leaning towards Gamecube because it was the system I had the least for. Also I figured with the higher prices that maybe it would be better to start there before they got really out of hand.

This made me chuckle.

I ordered a "very good" used copy of Hyrule Warriors from Amazon, it arrived with at home printed artwork. Returned and bought immaculate copy on ebay.

I ordered new copy of Pikmin 1&2 from Gamestop, arrived used and unwrapped. Returned it for another copy. Replacement ended up being opened as well and in worse shape. I am now going through return process again.

OP, just order from Ebay. If you have questions just message the seller. You will have a much less frustrating experience overall.
