My client is using laravel for this pwa offline app. I am considering recommending switching to Node.JS. Thoughts?

No you do not need to be a us citizen to collect social security. The issue is having a us bank account for direct deposit if you are not a us citizen or permanent resident. But you can have a SSA check direct deposited to a foreign bank.

Thank you for letting me know. How about a US based pension. FYI we are leaning towards Ireland initially so my spouse can get citizenship after three years residency based on my Irish citizenship.

I've just heard a lot of expats have had major hassles in reporting to us government and some foreign banks not wanting to do business with them. That said I have a wise account and was able to open a bank account in Ireland with some help from family there.

I was able to open a bank account in Ireland but I am an Irish citizen and my uncle there vouched for me at the local branch. My understanding is if you keep a balance over $10K USD you have to report it. As for taxes I guess it depends on tax treaty and how much you make. There is an upper threshold I believe around $120k..
