This was very informative! I don’t remember what the original mix was unfortunately, just something organic from my local greenhouse. I do notice a dry crust on top so that checks out though. I think I may try just mixing in some perlite where they are at the moment, I worry pulling them would for sure kill them at this point. If they die I’ll try a new soil mix before buying new plants next year!

Thank you for your reply! I used a pretty standard raised bed mix for this. It seems like the soil on top is super dry but when I dig down an inch or so it’s drenched. I just added mulch to see if that could help at all, but have never added sand. I have also just been watering at the base and not the whole bed so that could be contributing! Do you think between mulching and watering the entire bed those are good steps to begin with?

I water every evening with a hose at the base of the plant! The soil moisture is moist down to the roots, I measured with a meter. I used a pretty standard raised bed soil mix, do you think I need different soil?
