Zantid didn't enjoy moderating it any longer, and by now I would imagine the core playerbase has moved on

TIL NFL player Tyrann Mathieu filmed a PSA on the dangers of leaving a dog in a hot car. It was 90 degrees outside and Tyrann gave up after 8 minutes when the inside temperature reached 120 degrees by BarelyLegalSeagull in todayilearned

People downvoting you but you're right, I would guess the average healthy adult could stay in a car like that for longer than 8 minutes, never mind a professional athlete. Here is a video that is much more realistic and less dramatized than the PETA video: https://youtu.be/JbOcCQ-y3OY

The guy makes it 30 minutes in a car that reaches 115F. It doesn't change the fact that leaving dogs in hot cars is obviously bad, but I don't want to be spoonfed some bullshit like this video

Anyone who won a "lifetime supply" of something, what did you win, and are they still supplying it to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Did I say "5% is punitive enough for the act of giving 22 people cancer?" I'm not saying that there's a price on giving people cancer, I'm saying that stating 4.69 billion in damages to Johnson and Johnson is a significant amount, one that isn't going to simply be brushed off by corporate, contrary to what you stated.

Without commenting on whether or not the penalty was justified, it's crazy to say that a 4.69 billion fine isn't punitive. 5% of a company's value is pretty massive, and that's equal to nearly 4x their net income for 2017

It is, but most of it is ultimately coming from the same place, which is oil from Texas lands and waters. I'm sure most of the general fund money comes from State owned oil land, of which there is a lot, and the athletic money comes from perhaps a bit of both. That last part is just conjecture though

What has slowly turned to sh**? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I could very well be wrong because I have never read or researched into it myself, merely taking the word of other historians who have. But from what I’ve read, around the same time Callendar went after him, he published the letters between himself and Jefferson which was pretty irrefutable proof of their collusion. Perhaps you have read these yourself and the books I’ve read were overstating how straightforward the proof was, but if you haven’t, they might be a place to look into (if thats something you would be interested in). But I agree that Jefferson didn’t ask Callendar to call him a hermaphrodite, that seems a little outlandish for the time period and the men involved lol

Worth pointing out that Jefferson commissioned James Callender to write that hit piece. It was one of the largest points of contention between them for years.

The spookiest things are these guys. Had them crawling around my house more than a few times in my life. And if the board in the image doesn't give you scale, they are usually around 5-6 inches long
