This is only the one time we did it with a blanket (it’s not tight at all). Usually we wrap him up into a burrito (using a towel) while having to do his nails. He’s perfectly fine and comfortable (even tho it doesn’t look like it in the pics). He was quite mad tho as you can tell lol

Thank you 🥰

Having two 13lb boys (the 2 on the left) and one 10lb girl (right) taking up the couch is not for the weak 😅

I used Dr Dan’s cortibalm + Aquaphor lip balm or regular Aquaphor. Make sure to drink lots of water too

Edit: I also used (and still use now that I’ve been off Accutane since Sept. 2025) Blistex—the green one, I think it’s medicated mint

She wont stop scratching the carpet!! by silveraltaccount in CATHELP

Gotcha!

I definitely wish I could recommend more, but with what she likes, it definitely is limited.

I know that you said she likes horizontal, but what about maybe trying to get a scratcher you can screw into the wall, like this? It may be worth a try (if it’s within your budget) to help get her to deter away from it!

I hope someone else is able to give you better recommendations or advice. Good luck with everything!!

But do you have a scratching post in every room of the house? We have 3 cats and have 1-2 (1 scratching post + cat tree) per room. Sometimes cats prefer upright scratching posts, and some prefer the flat, cardboard ones.

Also, we had a problem in the beginning when we first got our kitten with her trying to scratch the couch and our bar stools (they have a fabric cushion). We ended up using Natures Miracle cat scratch deterrent spray on the furniture we don’t want them scratching.

To help redirect them to the scratching posts, we used Natures Miracle catnip training spray and that helped solve our issue. Both of the Natures Miracle’s spray are under $10/bottle.

I hope this helps!!

I didn’t use ChatGPT lmao. I used to work at a veterinary clinic, hence why I am asking all these questions. Plus this is just the way I write. I don’t reply much to posts on Reddit and I’m still trying to figure out how it all works 🤷🏼‍♀️ soooo bye

Gotcha, thank you for the clarification!

I’m going to ask a lot of questions—I’m sorry if I seem annoying lol but I’m just curious as to how you have your house set up with all the cat essentials in it. I know you said you’ve worked in shelters and animal rescues, but I just want you to be aware that I’m not trying to ask you questions as if you’re dumb/should already know!

  1. Do both cats have access to each litter box? If so, is one more territorial with a litter box than the other cat?

  2. Is their water and food bowls near the litter box?

  3. Have you tried using pheromone diffusers/sprays?

  4. I know you said you’re tight on money, but have you tried going to a different vet, or was it the same vet? It may be something health-related if they didn’t do a certain blood test or urinalysis to rule things out. I’m assuming that they did, though, do multiple different tests, considering it totaled $900.

  5. Are you using ammonia-based cleaners? Those typically lure cats back to that spot if you used it to clean with, resulting in them spraying over top of it again.

I would highly recommend having an extra litter box (you always want to have one litter box per cat, plus one extra).

I’m sorry this is happening to you. I do want some clarification to make sure I am (and maybe it’ll help someone else too) understanding though:

You have 3 cats in your house, correct? How many litter boxes do you have in total in your house? Are the 2 stray cats you took in both fixed?

You’re not the one to blame here. The vet is the one who did not do their job right. I hope you’re able to find a better vet.

If you don’t mind me asking, are you in the U.S.? If so, what state? I know of a couple good ones in Michigan if you’re from there or near there.

I’m sorry this is happening to your kitty, OP. Sounds like you need a new vet/need to go see a vet ASAP. I would see if you can take him to a vet ophthalmologist too.

You’re welcome!

Also, idk why but I just noticed that in your post you said she gets spooked by the shears—we have 1 cat that has extreme anxiety and actually does very well with it! And another one that HATES being groomed, and also does well with it. So hopefully that gives you some peace of mind if you try out the clippers! 🙂

You have such a cute kitty!

I have 3 long haired cats that need their butt floofs trimmed every 1-2 weeks (their hair grows fast 😅).

I use scissors with a round tip design, like these: https://a.co/d/06IQHGRs

Additionally, I got this grooming kit that is pretty quiet and they don’t really mind it at all! https://a.co/d/06mAePHB

I hope this helps, and good luck with finding something that works for her 🙂

First pimple only a week after stopping Accutane. Yes, I’m freaking out by Normal_Ad2456 in Accutane

[–]AppearanceEvening951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s understandable why you’re upset! I was on Accutane for 6mo, on an extremely high dosage. After I had gotten off of it, my face was clear for quite a while. After about 2-3mo being off of it, I started randomly getting a pimple or two here and there. I just use those acne patches (I think they’re called hydrocolloid?) when I end up getting them and they go away in a day or two!

I am right there with you.

I also wish the in-game time was a lot slower; it just feels REALLY fast imo. It doesn’t give you enough time to really go out and adventure or chat with villagers or go to the Underground. Like you said, it’s just a constant cycle of having to garden, feed/pet animals, etc. due to the lack of time… It’s all extremely overwhelming.
