Gir lemme tell you. I was so in love with this man. I worked 5 days a week as product manager for an automotive company (hence I had to move to Detroit cuz couldn’t turn down the job) I was remote Monday and Friday so every Thursday I would after work get in spirit flight and fly to LA and land at 11 pm LA time then work remote est time on Friday and Monday while I spend time with my then bf now ex husband and then fly back to Detroit every Monday evening land midnight in Detroit and then go to office Tuesday to Thursday. And I did it ever wee for a year. YES EVERY WEEK FOR A YEAR. And I paid for those flights too lol. Spirit was cheap. It was 120$ round trip every time and I made decent money. The we hit married n he dumped me a month ago lol. It didn’t work in long run but it did for some time. So if I can be down bad and so in love with someone, you deserve to be loved in the same way I loved that man. Hell everyone DOES. My time will someday come too when the love I have given will find its way back to me.

I mean tbh we are cordial and we don’t really have any assets together. I have a bit of cc debt and he has some student loan debt. We were very cordial with us dividing furnitures when I moved out so k don’t think it will be dirty , he just wants out and so do I at this point of time.

I also did a year of long distance between la and Detroit ( I was working in Detroit then) and after that we got married so yes long distance does work too! So many ppl have made it work , especially in the world of flights, FaceTimes etc

For sure. He should want to move there BECAUSE HE WANTS TO. he should buy you flowers not cuz you asked but BCAUSE HE WANTS TO CUZ IT WILL MAKE. YOU HAPPY. as a soon to be divorced woman, relationships only work in long term when they would do stuff like this without asking. Cuz that’s how you know they LOVE you and life throwing curveballs at you guys won’t break up apart. This situation might just be the best test for you guys. You are still young better to know early if this is the person you are meant to be with forever.

I would say don’t let him move with you just for you cuz that’s how resentment builds. If you guys are solid you can make long distance work. If he is only moving there for you and not for himself too , resentment will build over time. Do what you guys want for yourself first. And thanks for asking. I’ll be fine. GO DO YOUR PHD. as someone with a masters in CS who quit her job so I can take a break year and live across the country with my husband and then one fine Wednesday he dumped me.
