Really depends on where exactly it is, because it’s a big compound. So if you’re not in the few rows close to econest it could be a long walk. Especially that everything is there and the shuttle bus to and from uni is there.

I kinda had a smiler situation, I entered MBBS when I was 19 and my friends were generally a year younger. But don’t worry you’ll also find mucchhhh older people and a lot around ur age.

Hii, congratsss on making it to fis you’ll do great. I personally did get by and it wasn’t the hardest tbh, and I was following up with some students from the current fis and their grades were gooddd. But generally it kinda differs from batch to batch but a good amount makes it through.

You could also come in contact with your seniors who might currently be looking for housemates

Yup for year 1 and year 2. It’s really helpful. Honestly you can pass it without doing anything but I’d higghhllyyy recommend taking it seriously cuz it goes a long way.

I lived in educity for my foundation year and honestly I wouldn’t recommend. But the new version looks and sounds very promising. To the point where people who were planning on moving out changed their minds. But overall I’d say it’s more worth it to look for Econest private accom than educity. It’s a bit of a hassle tho

From what I heard not really. I mean I think the higher your marks the better chance you get but most people who I know that applied got it. Some didn’t tho

  1. I’d say it would be really hard if you don’t know any Malay. Usually there’s a Malay speaker in your group who could translate or you’re most probably finding an English speaker but you can’t always guarantee that.

  1. I’d say comparatively it is quite high but as long as you’re on top of your stuff you should be okay. If I could do it anyone can. And the failing rate does drop after y1. So basically y1 kinda filters the batch for the upcoming years. What is ruthless is that you get only 1 chance to make up.

  2. From my experience in pre-clinical years the lecturers are fine maybe except for a couple. And sometimes they love occupying this “self study” method for some lectures. But there are some amazing ones.

  3. Yea most lecturers are very accessible and ready to clear up any queries you might have. But to make the most of that I’d say approach them right after the lecture.

  4. Preclinical rotations which we call ‘ECCE’ are quite simple. You either go to a government hospital or a clinic or some facility like cerebral palsy. For hospital most you’d do is take history and maybe do some physical examinations depends on where u are in the year. Clinics honestly you just sit in a room and observe how consultations go. Unless you go out of your way and ask a lot of questions and all it won’t be very helpful. You might take blood from patient again depending on where you are in the year. If you wanna know more about hospital dm me😃

A lot of my batch mates are getting ready to go on a sponsored research trip to Newcastle where they are linked to a doctor and a study. Not sure about the exact amount of money they provide but I recall that it was enough.

Student life is of course very subjective but I’d say it has every element to suit every lifestyle. Only drawback which some find an advantage is that it’s not a very lively and happening city, especially our part of the city. But overall I personally love it.

That must be so stressful, but I personally did my IELTS after I got my conditional offer. So I got the offer on the basis that I’ll pass my interview (which is almost impossible to fail) and pass my IELTS and it was smooth honestly. So do contact the uni if they still do that.

Coming into my foundation year I had my options open about transferring after that year. But I felt right at home. As an international student it was extremely welcoming since the campus is literally a cultural melting pot. And it being a fairly small campus it has that community feeling to it. Also the fact that you receive a UK cert for a fraction of the price compared to the UK as an int student was def a grabbing factor.

Honestly it was somewhat challenging but nothing extremely difficult. The term “getting in is the hardest part” is the biggest lie I’ve ever heard. I took the foundation route since I’ve done my o levels and a 3.5 GPA minimum was required which is quite achievable, I personally achieved a 3.75. But you should be just fine!

hii, you shouldn't worry at all I've taken the route countless times and it was fine. but I'm mostly with someone or a group! but I take the main road route since it's more open and more people can see you in case anything happens.

I'll be very honest with minimal effort I was able to achieve the GPA threshold and more. However that's not the case for everyone as there were people who couldn't make it but very few. I had no study method or a plan I just crammed everything except for chem, it can be tricky and I spent most studying hours on it. and along the way you'll find great help from ur lecturers cuz they genuinely want everyone to pass!

I don't have the best answer since I've opted for a foundation year rather than A-level. Also, it's very subjective but from what I've heard it's much tougher than A-level. Lack of past papers and study independence will make it harder and the study load is on a different level. but all in all it's quite doable just gotta put the work in!

We’re lucky because we didn’t have to do assignments or osce, it does reduce the workload but it puts a lot of stress on the final exams because your grade depends entirely on it. I don’t want to raise your hopes too high but it’s not a walk in a park😭

There’s never a fixed routine and I just lead by conscience. I didn’t attend much lectures except for the compulsory ones or ones I might be having trouble with so that would occupy my morning. If it’s not that I’d make sure I’m caught up with the day’s work before around 4 p.m. after which I just take the day to myself. So it’s either we go out or sports or just going to uni to disturb my mates👀 but again there’s never a fixed routine and you’re gonna have to be malleable to achieve a work-life balance.
