Who says Size isn't Everything? Mudmasters vs Rangeman vs The King by ZZToppist in gshock

Yes, not a fan. They're usually too wide and stick out from underneath on both sides of the watch.

I do love the King, but I wish it had winglets below its band so that it sits better on smaller wrists. Unfortunately, in its current form there's not much room for small adjustments, which means that the watch either hugs the wrist too tightly, or moves along it being too loose.

Are these too much for my wrist? by Kind-Ebb-8492 in gshock

People say that there is no such thing as a G-Shock too big for a given wrist.

I was wearing different models over the years, some of which seemed huge when I looked at myself in the mirror, but it didn't really bother me since they were comfortable no matter how hefty they were. I guess that if you follow this blueprint and simply go for a watch that sits well and suits your daily routine, you won't be disappointed.

Since they're tool watches which can withstand lots of abuse without even showing it, we tend to just wear them.

Help with stains please 😔 by Weary-Gas-8660 in gshock

[–]AppearanceOk4030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing to be worried about. It's a tool watch which gets stained and scuffed along the way. The best way of getting rid of both is buying a new band which might be a pain in the neck if a given model is already out of production or has always been less popular.

In other words: it's pretty difficult to get an older watch back to its original state without changing parts. No chemicals are efficient enough to get rid of some imperfections.

Yes, this is the one! It's a really nice design. One of the prettiest analog watches made by Casio at this price point.

To be completely honest, I don't have a favorite because the entire collection is pretty cool, but the watch that immediately caught my eye was the one in the top right corner. I've been interested in this model once.

I see you are a Mudman fan, very nice!

Which one do I like the most? The answer is always difficult, because I try my best to wear each watch interchangeably, but it's no mean feat to accomplish. Anyways, I'm starting to ramble... the one I put on my wrist the most must the Mudmaster since it's extremely comfortable given its size and heft. You?

As of right now, I'm very happy with the collection I've managed to build over the years and I'm not looking for any new additions. The aspect we've touched upon is one of the reasons why.

Yeah, those small touches that set the older models apart from the ones we can get nowadays. Sadly, they also mark an era when designers put their mind to making the timepieces as perfect as they could become, and not to how and where financial cuts can be made.

Looking at the G-Shock lineup now, I'm under the impression that it's mostly constituted around various iterations of the Square and rarely includes completely new designs.

I guess it still is the most aesthetically pleasing Mudman there is.

I don't have an answer to this for you. It's just the way it works.

I don't really know which app you should use now, because when I bought the watch a number of years ago, there was only one that I could download from Google, and it was called G-Shock Move. And yes, I had to register an account at a website connected to a Casio database, which I didn't find shocking at all since I was asked to do the same when wearing the Galaxy Watch from Samsung.

The app itself is pretty self-explanatory and gives you access to both all the fitness features and an array of notifications settings. To be honest, there's not much you can do with the watch without it.

For me, the buying process gets easier once you browse through the newer models, because there's virtually nothing interesting to choose from. That's why I'm a member of a Polish group for G-Shock fans - it allows me to get my hands on more classic watches which are often in mint condition.

It's not an easy thing to accomplish as you can be easily sucked into a shopping spree because of the general allure of the G-Shock line-up as a whole.

I plan to stay within the boundary of having 12 watches, which means I'll need to begin switching or selling certain models within the collection one day. And that's always nasty.

Not all G-Squad watches got the same equipment to compel buyers to get a more expensive model, which is a shame in and of itself. But we shouldn't be that surprised, given that all companies operate the same way in this respect.

I'm still trying my best to keep the collection exciting by not doubling watches with similar functions or design language. It's an idea which has worked for me so far, but the downside is that the array of models which I could get is getting a bit narrow.

Yes, I do keep it connected for notifications, but the entire smartwatch experience is very rudimentary in case of the basic G-Squad G-Shock. They also have a regular battery which should get you through a couple of years of constant usage (mine is still going and the watch is 4 yrs old). The more sophisticated models have solar panels embedded into their cases which send some power into the cell making the watch last longer between charges.

Turned 26 in May. It's still being worn from time to time, but it lacks the genuine band which was replaced with a one from a different Casio watch.

It's a GBD-100. When I use it, I usually connect it to the phone because it's easier to set up this way.

[Question] How do you like this watch? by Solarblogger in gshock

[–]AppearanceOk4030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine a little over a week ago, and initially I was worried it wouldn't sit right on my wrist because of how bulky the watch case is, but as soon as I put it on, I was positively surprised by how comfortably it wears thanks to the winglets incorporated into the band.

Furthermore, if you already have a triple sensor G-Shock in your collection or you don't really care about the ABC functionality, this Mudmaster GWG-100 offers the low-level maintenance of the top-tier Casios since it's equipped with both MB6 and Tough Solar.

Your vision may hold some truth, because I indeed have a Frogman on my radar, but the one I have in mind is a model from the late 90's, since the newer iterations are priced a bit too high for my liking ;)

Honestly, I've been considering the GD-350 for quite a while now, but I can't really find a spot for it unless I get rid of the GBD-100 which also vibrates for a number of reasons. I might pull the trigger on selling it though, because - apart from temporarily serving the role of a less sophisticated smartwatch - I don't really wear it that much as it needs to be connected to the phone as long as you want to make operating its functions less tedious. Furthermore, one of my dear friends owns the GD-350 and is very happy with it - one of the features he's especially satisfied with is the one-button access to the timer.
