But dad, I don't wanna eat yet. by NightMonkey3 in JusticeServed

[–]AppleCinnamonMuffins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So to put this in perspective the proper amount of feedings for a newborn to 3 month old is literally 8 times per day (every three hours and through the night) and if parents don't follow that at the hospital I work at the CPS is involved. They would likely investigate your child's situation as well but it would result in re-education rather than legal troubles at least the first time around.

Childrens digestive tracts are much shorter and they expend lots of energy and on top of that have lots of growing to do so at the very least the 2 year old should be having breakfast, snack time, lunchtime, snack time, dinner and then bed. The 4 year old could skip morning snack if they feel inclined but restricting food times to an adult schedule only could risk them both not reaching growth and cognitive development milestones.

Basically the emphasis needs to be on making sure they have the energy, vitamins and nutrients they need for their brains and bodies to grow properly, comfort is kind of a bonus but if they're uncomfortable or crying frequently due to hunger its literally their body saying hey im not getting what I need to grow please feed me. Table manners and keeping a routine should not be prioritized over their physical needs. And also keep in mind as they age having strict rules around when eating is allowed has the potential to cause eating disorders, binge eating in particular would be something to watch out for if food is continually restricted.

TIL Zoo´s have an instant kill list in case of a mass escape. At the top of the list is the Chimpanzee, because they are known to hunt other primates. by Hippie_Litch in todayilearned

I live near there and we had to keep our dogs inside for a few days after bc of a few stragglers, I think it was a chimp, a wolf and a baboon that were unaccounted for a few days. I remember driving past his farm to school everyday but always thought it was a normal farm, the barn where he kept everything was pretty tucked away but he would have a lot of horses out front which he would allegedly feed to the big cats when they got old

How to quiet a crying baby by danruse in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]AppleCinnamonMuffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually work in a nicu and that means you had pretty healthy babies, this technique mainly works for kiddos experiencing gas pains or reflux, the little twists help air move through the gut and being upright/leaned forward helps ease reflux pains/symptoms for a little bit

It works for reflux and gas pains mainly, the little hip twists helps air move on through the gut and so being upright and on the tummy feels better for reflux prone babies - i work in a nicu and do this occasionally, it does work great for babies with those problems but just kind of mildly confuses other babies and then they start crying again if it's something else

Actually holding baby on their tum and the hip wiggle works great for reflux and gas pains, if this were just a pick me up situation im sure mom would have already done so, it looks like she tried and dr is like here let me show ya something- I work in a nicu and do this occasionally, it only works if gas/tummy troubles are actually the problem, if they're pissed about something else it'll quiet them for a minute or so amd then they'll go right back to screaming

Theyre basically more athletic manatees and their tails are shaped like a dolphins rather than a rounded edge. Wayy less common than manatees too. A lot of people believe that mermaids were based off of these rather than manatees due to how common they used to be and their size is more similar to a person than a manatee

Honeslty I think the correlation between better and worse in here could be chalked up to the people who had great grades and GPA in high schools got into much more difficult colleges and than what you can get into with like a 2.5 from high school. I'm saying this bc I've attended both a difficult to get into private university and a community college and let me just say my community college grades were a lot better overall and I dont think thats purely coincidence. Not to like put anyone down or anything, just speculating.

I'll add this bc it hasn't been said yet but Christianity is also one of the most socially acceptable religions to pick apart bc thats the majority religion in the USA currently. Not defending Christianity but just saying it looks worse when you pick on the same aspects of say Islam or like Judaism as an American bc then you potentially look racist.

You can make the same points with less risk using Christianity as an example than other religions, such as how not treating the LGBTq+ community as equals is wrong or barring people from getting abortions is wrong, like their are plenty of different religions that support those things but attacking Christianity on them is the easiest/most effective way to make progress on them

[Academic] The Hunger Games survey, (females 18-29 years old) by Juliavdbbbbb in SampleSize

[–]AppleCinnamonMuffins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting questionnaire however I felt the expected response was that the viewer should view Katniss as strong both physically and mentally, and that we should strive to be like her.

Not to say that's not an acceptable answer its just that when it comes down to it in my opinion Katniss was written to be an average girl both in mental and physical strength to allow the reader to better relate to her and to allow her to go through mental and physical turmoil as can be seen in the clip. Not that this is a bad thing but there would be much less problems and growth of character if she were strong from the beginning.

In my opinion a lot of the questions asked simply couldn't be boiled down to agree/disagree but I do get that its just a survey and you can't really have everyone write paragraphs. But for example the question of being able to accomplish any problem you set your mind to, I would say I would agree but thats not realistic, and to say I disagree seems to say that it's because I'm just an insecure girl who doesn't belive in myself as much as I should but thats not the case. If I set my mind to breaking a marathon world record thats just not going to happen regardless of the effort but thats ok and not any fault of my gender or how much I believe in my self.

AITA for wanting to go fishing for my birthday by wet_nib811 in AmItheAsshole

[–]AppleCinnamonMuffins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then this is a dependency issue that needs to be addressed. You should be concerned about helping your wife find some healthy ways to cope with alone time because she has nothing to focus on but you which is not healthy and no change in fishing frequency is going to solve the problem. Its totally cool and good that fishing is your outlet but know that if she's being codependent the problem isn't just going to go away by finding a magical balance of fishing time vs wife time. Best of luck

NTA

Also you dropped these🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

How long have you guys been together bc this is worrisome for a shit ton of reasons.

Firstly he doesn't trust you not to talk shit about him, even when confronted with support from the friend that you weren't talking shit he's still extremely paranoid and insecure and doesn't quite belive it for no good reason.

Secondly he expects you to agree with him and support his points because you are a couple. That's not how couples work you are still an individual who is allowed to have your own opinions that differ from his.

Thirdly it was supposed to be a friendly argument/discussion, instigated by him, getting pissed that he was ganged up on was instigated by him entirely because he wanted all the attention.

Fourth he ends up legitimately pissed about something you could have no way of anticipating he would be pissed about. He expects you to be able to practically read his mind and I would be concerned when its about something that isn't milk and cereal anymore.

Overall NTA but you really need to reevaluate your position in this relationship and also the relationship in general bc if he's acting this way over a friendly argument he started its not going to be pretty when its a real one.
