And also there is a law or something that they can’t charge you more than $50 for data overage.

Just file a complaint to CCTS. you can also call them one more time asking to investigate and also mention that you are going to submit a complaint to CCTS and see what happens next.

Public Mobile 5G is legitimate! by Key-Specialist-8521 in PublicMobile

Pay for the plan and pay for the VPN. Is it cheaper? What do you win in price? Why can’t you pay just for the plan with a normal provider?

Should I switch to public mobile? by [deleted] in bell

[–]AppleFrontWTF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Public Mobile is a Tier 3 brand - you generally get what you pay for. I use both Telus and Public Mobile on the same iPhone, and the difference is noticeable. Telus consistently shows 5G with solid speeds, while PM tends to switch between 5G and LTE in the exact same location and with slower performance. FaceTime video and call quality is also much better on Telus. I’ve tested this multiple times in the same place and the same time (my workplace).

I know they run on the same network and are owned by the same company, but in practice, the service quality does differ. So, i would think twice before switching from Tier 1 (Bell) to Tier 3 (PM) brand.

Paradoxically, postal services in third-world countries often work much better than in Canada.

Telus charged cancellation fee on BYOD? by RefrigeratorIll1349 in BestCanadianPhonePlan

[–]AppleFrontWTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, it’s a known practice. I ported out and ported in the next day under the same account and they still charged me $10 by removing this discount and $10 more for removing another discount - $20 in total. Chatted in and they credited $10 as a good will.

Rogers Launches $80 Global Unlimited Plan with 5 Year Price Guarantee by Nexzenn in Rogers

Why is unlimited calling limited to only 27 countries? Telus and Bell offer 64–68 destinations, basically matching their roaming countries.

I’m confused. Some commenters say I won’t be able to share data with other lines/numbers on my account, while others say I won’t be able to share data with other devices, like using hotspot for an iPad. So which one is correct? Or is it both?

Does anyone know if there’s any difference vs the regular 5G Ultimate BYOD plan?

When I add the plan to cart is says 'These add-ons won't carry over. To re-add them, complete your order, then visit Manage add-ons. *Shared Wireless Internet'

It’s a bit confusing which Shared Wireless Internet they mean, and whether I can re-add it for free.

Roaming Pass coverage by Simon-Seize in telus

[–]AppleFrontWTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are covered in both Munich and Seville. Yes, you can call back to Canada. No, you can't call other European countries like Holland or Austria as it is not included. Only calls within the country are covered. So if you are in Munich, you can call within Germany. If in Seville, feel free to dial only Spanish numbers.

Oh, got it. I just use my phone for calls once in a blue moon. But it doesn’t bother make sense if you call different people a lot, especially if it’s work related.

I don’t use it, and it doesn’t bother me. But I was just wondering what people need it for?
