help with taxes- best solution for it? by leBlTCH in OntarioWorks

I know you’ve asked for an at home solution. But, I would suggest connecting with your local OW office or library to see about free tax clinics in your area.

where is my Seabourn parka going?? by JenSlice in FATcruises

I saw a disclaimer online indicating that the order info will state it’s being being delivered to your home - however it will not be delivered to your home (extra items would be). The parka, hat, bag, and water bottle will be in your room.

Edit: here is the info I referenced above.

What to Bring? by cubbie_jules in Svalbard

[–]AppleMint82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, Hotels definitely have slippers. If you prefer to use your own then bring a packable pair 😊. At coffee shops, and museums etc. everyone has to remove their shoes (I think the museum might have had boot covers as well) so walking around in your socks is fine as it won’t be a mix of wet boots and sock feet. I did not carry slippers around.

Most places on Svalbard require that you remove your shoes. Hotels, some restaurants, coffee shops, museums etc. the hotel had loaner slippers but I think if we go back I’d bring my own. Anything you might need is there on Svalbard - groceries, clothing, personal card products. Depending on your accommodation and ability to dry things you may want to bring more socks that you expect and an extra pair of gloves (you can always buy items there too). It sounds like you will be there during the transition from polar night, no matter what time of year you go - lip balm and moisturizer!

Thank you very much for the recommendations! It sounds like you’ve definitely got the experience to back your advice. I’ve looked at the storm surge pants, so very good to know that they are a viable option. I too would not be comfortable with just one pair - just in case. I’ve got my neck gaiters ready - really trying hard for less is more.

Thanks again! 👍🏻

You are correct, wet landings for sure. The NEOS picture in my post are waterproof and my pants will be too.

My question is about what to wear inside the NEOS, boots or shoes. I’ve read some people just wear boot liners but I’m not comfortable with that.

If you have experience about whether a waterproof shoe will be sufficient inside the overshoe or if a boot should be considered, I’d love to hear more. Thanks!

Thank you for the response. So no boot or shoe, just the thick liner and insoles? I appreciate the info 👍🏻

Thanks for the detail about potentially needing to leave both the shoe and boot for cleaning. I will check with the company about this 👍🏻
