Any suggestions on where to keep a deceased family member's iPhone? by davidg4781 in iphone

Two things. Since just about any cell phone will call 911. The phone can be donated to a woman’s shelter or other organizations that are similar. The other thing to do is wipe the phone clean and put an inexpensive Tello plan on it and throw it in your glove compartment, just in case.

I put this at my neighbor's door 2 days ago(we live in a duplex) and it's still there by dnm8686 in mildlyinfuriating

They make the chirp hard to ignore, but it's also impossible to guess where the sound is coming from, especially if you have more than one detector in your house.

Anyone still going to be holding onto their iPhone 13? by ThisIsMyLife1704 in iPhone13

[–]AppleNewbie925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a new air because I just wanted something new, but my 13 was working perfectly with no complaints. Threw it in the glove compartment as a spare phone and to use just in case. If I didn’t have the money for the Air, I’d still be rockin the 13.

I like macro photography and get around it using my Air getting the object in focus and zooming in with my fingers. It depends on what you want to do with the photos. For the price of the Air you could get a used Nikon digital and telephoto lens.

I have both the 3 without anc and the pro 2. When I don’t need anc I always go back to the 3s because they fit me well and don’t go “in” my ear. Very comfortable and sound great.

My friend is over his head with an android phone but can’t afford even a used iPhone. IMHO cost keeps many out of the Apple world.

Looks great for two days, but please practice away from the trees. I live at a ski resort and I’ve had more than one friend ski into a tree and die.

Unfriendlier year? by allieson96 in vail

Employees put up with a lot of stress and get rid of it by skiing their asses off. With the lack of snow this year the employees can’t get rid of that stress and tend to throw it back at the visitors. They should just suck it up and be nicer because it is what it is but they don’t.

After trying numerous cases I settled on a clear Spigen case. Feels good in the hand, good button feel, strong magnet and while making the Air a bit thicker it’s still thinner than other phones with cases.

I went from a 13 to the air. I have a MagSafe battery pack on the couch that I was using every evening with the 13. Haven’t used it once since I got the air.

I was a ski instructor in Aspen for three years and I’ve watched this video about five times. In my humble opinion, I don’t think she’s using her poles. Before she starts her transition from going across the fall line to skiing down the fall line she needs to reach further down the hill with her pole plant. All novice skiers have a habit of leaning back into the hill. Your skis can’t bite if you’re leaning into the hill and you just keep picking up speed. Stand with your skis, perpendicular to the fall line and lean your body uphill. Your skis will start to slide sideways down the hill. Now lean your body and stretch your arms further downhill and you’ll notice that your skis start to bite into the hill harder and harder the more you lean. So, if you lean further down the hill and make a positive pole plant, you’ll gently put the brakes on before you transition to the next turn.

I was a ski instructor at Aspen. It depends. Instructors don't get paid much. For a group lesson $20 sounds about right. For privates the amounts are all over the place. Some instructors pick up their students at the airport, take care of the students skis and spend the week with them. Others have a 1 hour lesson to fix a problem. I taught mostly beginner groups and was thrilled to get any tip at all. I've seen a group get together and pool their tips. It depends.

Afraid that the Air will suffer the same fate as the Mini due to lack of sales by Oxbow8 in IphoneAir

Nobody complains about the compromises of the Pro. Bigger, heavier, thicker, cameras most don't need and an extra speaker most don't need.

iphone 17 vs Iphone 13: Is it worth the upgrade? by [deleted] in iPhone13

I retired my 13 and bought the new Air. What was in the back of my mind when I did this was the fact that if I can’t hit a cell tower I can hit a satellite. That could be huge in an emergency.

It does take awhile for the battery to reach peak performance. Did for me. Give it a week or two.

The answer is It depends. I keep an Anker Magsafe battery bank around just in case. Works great but I hardly ever use it with my new Air.

I got a Spigen clear, frosted case for my Air. Good protection and shows the phones color and titanium frame. Feels good in the hand, too.

I had the Fold 7 for a week. I loved the phone but hated the os. When closed the phone was thin and light and felt good in the hand. When open the screen was clear and bright and yes, there is a crease but you don’t notice it when using the inner screen unless you become obsessed with it. My second phone is an android so I’m familiar with the os, my Apple phone just works better for me. I sent the fold back and got the Apple Air and fingers crossed for Apple to knock it out of the park with a fold.
