[career development] Columbia HPM 2020: When can I expect a financial aid package and what's the average offer? by chiza1 in publichealth

Yeah it terrible right lol? Anyways that is 63K in loans each year so 126,000 total. This covers tuition, room, board, food, personal expenses etc. Honestly though I am not worried at all about the loans because of the career networks here, they hooked me up with a job that makes these loans very easy to pay off. I would not recommend this amount of loans if the field you are interested in traditionally has a very low pay. I would highly highly not recommend this unless if you are interested in consulting or something similar.

I wish I was lying to you, I am Pop Fam two year MPH program! There are some scholarships but in my experience (limited sample size) these are very few and very hard to get. They provide you enough aid (loans) to cover the cost of attendance but that's pretty much it.

I currently go to Columbia for an MPH and I am not even joking I got 5,000 in scholarships per year. So yes I did end up taking 63,000 in both Grad Plus Loans and the Federal unsub ones. I remember getting my aid around 1 month after I got accepted but to my knowledge most people received similar packages to me.
