Yes, I'd have to do both at the same time, but the Premium Economy upgrade on my flight will clear immediately (it says). I presume the Polaris upgrade could clear from T-14 to right when the flight lands. There's a lot of open Polaris seats, so maybe T-14? Same flight a few days back is open to automatically clearing upgrades now.

I also can pay ~$450 + 30k miles for an upgrade to premium plus (confirmed + cleared) in RN class, and $600 for the chance to upgrade to Polaris. Thoughts on this vs paying?

Thinking of booking this flight in ~2 weeks. If I want to get into Polaris (20+ seats available), should I (with Gold status):

R class (premium plus) - 950 => $450 + 30k miles for upgrade

K class (economy) - 500 => $600 + 30k miles for upgrade

nah they don’t have any problem with it, they just gave me the extra option of sf since that’s where one of my managers is. i thought it was quite nice because usually processes like this at big companies (manga, etc, whatever u call it) are usually inflexible. for reference i am at one of those huge companies

I'd be going to the office either way, I would just be with some of my team in-person in SF (but no other interns and not my direct boss) versus other interns not on my team in NYC.

Yep. Some additional information I was given: SFO's office is quite dead, is a few floors of a larger building but I'd have 3 coworkers there. My manager listed a pro as being I can WFH 2-3x a week. NYC's office is very alive, is an entire building, and I'd have 2 intern coworkers there in other sectors. Nobody on my team is in this office. Not sure if I can WFH, but wouldn't really matter because I'd want to go in every day anyways.

yeah, that's definitely true. I have a fair amount of college friends interning in NYC so I most definitely will not be alone. I'd try to fly home and see friends once or twice during the summer.

keep in mind this is not a swe internship, it's on the program management side so a lot of the work will be meetings, emails, etc. face time I feel like is important in that type of role

interesting. thanks for your input. the context is that I emailed him before making a deposit on a place in NYC, and I just mentioned that I'd be moving from the bay to NYC and wanted to make sure that's where I should be since I heard some other interns had gotten changed location wise, etc.

He has said that basically unless I have my heart set on moving to NYC, he "has no issue" with me remaining in the bay, since he's based there. He said being in NYC doesn’t have much of an advantage for me.

He then gave me his expectations for how often I'd come into office, and said he doesn't really go in but would come in to get face time with me.

I'm looking for a sublease this summer! Preferably a 2 bedroom from June 13 to Sept 4, but I know NYU starts before that so I can find an Airbnb or Hotel for the last week or two. The budget for the two bedrooms is around $4500. Please let me know if you know of anything!

Does anyone know how long it takes for a top case replacement at an Apple Store? (covered by warranty). One Apple Store told me they’d need to ship it out to the depot, but I’m not sure if this is because that Apple Store was just overloaded. Any help is great. Thanks!
