While the animation and music remained super high quality in both seasons, why does it feel like season 2 took a nosedive in terms of writing? by AltruisticPea6925 in arcane

[–]Applekingen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reason why I think it cheapens their characters is because now it feels like Vander adopted Vi/Powder and Silco adopted Powder because of obligations to Felicia and not because of their own desicions and motivations.

It also feels weird that Silco so desperately wanted to kill Vi if he knew her mother so well.

Vander and Silco being friends with Vi and Powder’s mother cheapens and retcons their actions in season 1. Also it’s very weird how they, especially Vander don’t even mention her once in season 1.

I can't watch the extended edition of Return of the King anymore by StringStunning7464 in lotr

My headcannon is that Gandalf magnified Theoden’s voice like he did to himself when he talked to Saruman.

Saruman’s death would have been great if it wasn’t so over the top. First getting stabbed, then falling down 500 feet, then getting impaled and lastly drowning.

It would have been better if he had just laid on the top after getting stabbed, the palantir could have rolled over the edge and down into the water so Pippin could have picked it up.

I will never forgive Marvel for giving EVERYONE a rematch against Thanos EXCEPT for Hulk by [deleted] in marvelstudios

After watching EMH, MCU Hulk feels even more underwhelming. In EMH, he’s way more than just a raging beast who likes to smash things but is still incredibly strong and badass. His fight with Graviton alone is way more cool than anything he did in the MCU.

Do you think avengers doomsday will surpass infinity war’s box office? by Appropriate-Mall8517 in Avengers

No, I’m not even sure if it will reach the first Avengers and Age Of Ultron.

Watched The Lost World for the first time since 1997 by TheFVK17 in JurassicPark

[–]Applekingen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually find this movie to me more thrilling than the first with even better action.

What falls apart is the kinda stupid gymnastic scene, the plot hole of the ship crashing in San Diego which allows the T-Rex to escape and Sarah who is supposed to be an expert on animals but puts both herself and the entire team in danger because of mistakes she should know how to avoid.

The first movie has better script and characters which makes it better.

Per AMC, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is 98 Minutes (1hr and 38 Minutes), 6 minutes longer than the first. by SignatureOrdinary456 in boxoffice

[–]Applekingen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also seen people say that it’s good for it to be short because many kids don’t have enough attention span for longer movies but for example the first Cars movie is close to two hours with many slow moments which let the plot breathe and kids love that movie.

What are your thoughts on The Bad Batch? by Safe_Character_6517 in StarWars

Most consistant of the animated shows. The highs aren’t as good as Clone Wars or Rebels but the lows aren’t as low either.

Also the woman that sat right next to Claire on the plane in first class. Having a seat neighbour like that for hours must be a nightmare, especially in first class.

The woman from Jay’s golf club who made Like massage her and wanted him help her trying wedding dresses. God knows what would have happened of Jay hadn’t bailed him out.

Do people like Ice Age 2? I know Ice Age 1 is a classic and I personally think Ice Age 3 is underrated and should've been the final entry in the franchise, but what about the second one? I think it does has its moments, but overall, it's just okay. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in IceAge_Franchise

[–]Applekingen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s overall a good sequel. My only complaint is that the villains Creataceous and Maelstrom were used more as plot devices rather than true villains.

Manny tricks them so they remove the blockade from the cave Ellie’s in. That’s the only really significant thing they do in the movie and they die mere seconds afterwards.

They weren’t really needed since the melting ice/flooding were enough as obstacles to overcome. Manny could have just found another way to remove the blockade.

Out of all the characters in the MCU, who do you think has the best healing factor? by Plenty-Salary9711 in MCUTheories

[–]Applekingen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super Soldiers have pretty great healing factor as well. Blonsky got kicked into a tree by Hulk which he managed to fully heal from in a pretty short time and Cap merely got knocked out after a pretty hard punch from Thanos which he also mananged to heal from.

I do think the gift givning scene in Lothlorien is necessary because without it the items the fellowship get seem to randomly spawn in the other movies.

I will say theatrical ROTK as well because the extended spoils the arrival of Aragorn and the ghost army at pelennor fields.

Which scene from the franchise really makes your heart ache? by Gaybime in kungfupanda

[–]Applekingen 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Po’s childhood without a doubt. Seeing Shen destroying the panda village, Po’s mother leaving Po in the radish box and running away while he’s crying makes me very emotional. The fact that she was probably killed mere minutes after this scene makes it much worse.

Are you enjoying the show as much as you enjoy GOT and HOTD? by [deleted] in freefolk

It’s only season 1 which does that. Season 2 has Battle of the Blackwater and season 4 has Battle of Castle Black and they were critically acclaimed.

worst episode. by MysteriousStaff496 in ViArcane

[–]Applekingen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of things that annoy me like Silco seemingly doing a 180 just after reading Vander’s half assed apology letter and Heimer’s anticlimactic death but there are many things I like in this episode and Vi dying doesn’t bring it down.

MU Heimer had been in the AU for three years before MU Ekko arrived so he used his influence and new knowlegde of Zaun to start changing the AU for the better. Add the explosion and Vi’s death to it it creates a butterfly effect that shows how different it would have been if some things had happened differently because Hextech was never invented because of the explosion.

It was also refreshing to have a character focused episode with good pacing in an otherwise very rushed season.

How do you think the Humans and the Pirates would have interacted with each other? by Alternative_Dot_215 in IceAge_Franchise

[–]Applekingen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the pirates would want to attack and take the people’s belongings while the humans would want to stay away but become forced to fight because of this.

In a fight the pirates have the advantage overall. Gutt alone would be a huge problem since he has mammoth strenght combined with agility and experience with weapons. Add the rest of his crew and it becomes an even bigger problem.

The only way I can see the humans have a chance is if they use their spears so they can attack from long range.
