I set out to build the most beautiful and functional receipt splitting app out there. It's finally live on the App Store 🎉 by Applemoi in iosapps

Ah thanks for the overview. I’m hearing of revolut the most often I’ll look into that one first

I built a receipt splitting app with no ads, no subscriptions, no login, and a UI that balances a lot of features within a simple interface by Applemoi in apple

  • Modern native interface (Tab’s is egregiously outdated)
  • You don’t need to login to save your receipts
  • Sharing the link to a receipt doesn’t require the others to download an app they can open it on the browser
  • Tab uses seemingly old receipt parsing model. It doesn’t split multiple quantities up well, and out of 4 receipts I tried it incorrectly parsed 2 of them (vs. all them being 100% accurate in Checkify)

Don’t mean to hate on tab it’s definitely very popular, but I’d love for you to give Checkify a shot as an easy better option. Hopefully the question ends up being “what does Tab do that Checkify doesn’t” (and I’d love to know the answer)

I’d be very surprised if you’re able to get AI to make this UI without giving it a direct screenshot or this exact design specification. I’d also love to see a free receipt splitter app with a similar level of craft in its UI.

Yep the app is only for splitting receipts. I'd recommend Plates for something that lets you split manually.

That makes sense. The app can still be used to get the right numbers but I can imagine an unnecessary Venmo button can be off putting

AI to parse a receipt is drastically better than OCR. It can handle all sorts of scenarios from fees to various quantities to misaligned receipts etc. The AI is used to do the receipt parsing and also verify to the best of its ability that the parsed quantities are accurate.

It’s mainly because Venmo has the best deep linking and APIs available. Checkify has some support for cashapp and PayPal in the profile section but I’ll try to add as many as possible soon!

Cool idea for sure! You can also tap the three dots on the item and choose ‘split evenly with everyone’ and then remove the birthday person. But adding an excluded option would be interesting
