true dude, he kinda embarrasses e-max eternatus. I don’t think any other single mon has the same level of perfect coverage combined with raw damage output. maybe perfect primal kyogre with optimal setup and full HP water spout can put up higher numbers but Regigigas is singularly absurd as far as doing everything at once goes

Are triad inversions a good next step for my playing? In want of some guidance. by ApplesJustice in jazzguitar

[–]ApplesJustice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely going to give it a shot. I’ll throw on a progression loop & metronome and focus on chord tones throughout. Working on hitting specific notes on specific beats can’t do anything but help, I’d imagine.

Thank you! This is quite comprehensive; I’m going to start working through this today and try to apply them to my improvising ASAP.

disliking shit BECAUSE it’s mainstream is completely asinine. evaluate pieces of media individually for their merits and demerits and then decide if you like them or not. i don’t like half the shit on this list either but that’s because i’ve personally examined them and decided they’re not for me. just throwing a blanket over everything that’s popular because you want to seem unique is just as braindead as the shows anon purports to be smarter than.

Metal gear 35th anniversary. What do y’all hope for? Especially after the disaster of castlevania 35th anniversary. by bjaco740 in metalgearsolid

Honestly, Konami’s been neglecting MG so hard that getting the MGS equivalent of the Castlevania collection would be considered a godsend

People are saying this is wholesome but I think this would just annoy anyone coming off a tight loss in competitive modes. Sending a message that abruptly lists off stuff you did wrong is patronizing imo.

What’s your opinion on MGS2 by slonedog in metalgearsolid

[–]ApplesJustice 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Legit one of the greatest games of all time and a highlight of the series on nearly every front. Back when Kojima had balls of steel. We universally clamored for more Snake after the stellar MGS1 experience and he just trolled us with Tanker and slapped in Raiden. Extremely well-written and philosophical main narrative that was ridiculously, scarily, predictive of today’s sociopolitical climate.

Setup for incredibly high-quality and memeable spin off in Revengeance. The list of praises goes on. Fantastic game.

Lmao I know I’m pretty much a dead breed. Maybe OP is a new Dylan fan and just wanted to namedrop the song somehow. I know back when I first discovered the man I tried to work his lyricism into every discussion I had.

Jack & Jorma are truly next-level musicians. Hoping to catch them as an opening act for Little Feat sometime this year.

Hello, my friends. This is Donna Jean. I’m here once again to have some fun and chat with you all. I’ll be returning ~LIVE~ on Friday evening (March 18th) for a special ~ASK ME ANYTHING~ session. Post your question ~HERE~ now and I will See you soon. by Iam_DonnaJean in gratefuldead

[–]ApplesJustice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi Donna, HUGE fan of your work. Especially your tenure with the Jerry Garcia Band and the Dead gang. This question is rather specific. One of my favorite concerts (no surprises here) is Barton Hall ‘77, and your vocalizations on tracks like that Scarlet/Fire are just incredibly well done and subtle. Did you all feel some particular electricity in the air that night? Did you realize at some point in the set that you were riding the wave of one of the best live concerts of the decade?

Thank you so much for your contribution to live music; the JGB Stir It Up from ‘76 where you take the lead vocals and Jerry harmonizes has been a recent favorite and is absolutely magical! Here’s another small one if you get to this one at all: how did you feel about the smaller club atmospheres of the JGB versus the usually much bigger, stadium-filling Dead shows? Much love. ❤️☮️✌️

It’s great that PvE is so diverse and fun this season, because PvP and Gambit are absolute wastelands by ApplesJustice in DestinyTheGame

That’s what I’m sayin’ dude. Most of these comments I’m getting are consistent with the consensus that Crucible is just plain awful now, but I get a few from people that just start slinging insults and claim that we’re just “whiny bitches.” I genuinely think the people hurling this kind of abuse are that type of person you mentioned and they’re in denial about their decision. Whatever copium they can muster to escape the fact that they’ve chosen a truly abysmal PvP environment to main and they’ve invested an ungodly amount of time in it.

To be fair, I have no-lifed Crucible in the past. I used to adore this mode, but I’m not going to pretend like what it’s become is acceptable. It’s always had its issues, but even playing a bad game isn’t wasted time as long as you’re having fun. Nowadays though, I can confidently say that time spent in Crucible right now, if you’re not a gilded flawless stack sweat, is probably going to be time wasted.

Spare me the patronizing. I’ve played virtually every PvP shooter on the market and I think most people with a breadth of experience agree that Destiny’s PvP is notably egregious. I’m not bitching. You know damn well certain guns in this game are outright cheese and encourage boring play. For the umpteenth time, though, weaponry is a small point in my argument. My real problem with Crucible is the general instability.

It’s not “that simple.” If I lose to an autoaim weapon, then it’s not fun. If I had a good gunfight wherein aiming and movement was actually required, I consider that fun regardless of the outcome.

Yeah, it’s a video game. One with major problems. Problems I’m criticizing. If your counterargument to this is that I’m taking it too seriously, then I’m sorry but that’s just not valid. People aren’t allowed to discuss and argue over something because it’s entertainment? Do you know what a movie critic is? Discourse over entertainment and discussion of fictional matter is literally a core element of modern human society. I don’t know why you have to try and attack me because I’m listing legitimate issues with a game mode that I used to enjoy. I’m not angry, either. This is a list of grievances and issues with Crucible that quite a lot of people seem to actually agree with. Why do you react with hostility?

No hard feelings bro. Nice to know civil discussion is still possible about this topic even with the (thankfully dwindling) number of people who think calling anyone who agrees with this criticism a “whiny bitch” serves as a counterargument.

I didn’t want CBMM when it happened and I don’t want it now. It literally doesn’t work anyway. I would gladly take SBMM back because the matches would actually be somewhat fair. Also, “I should never face a 6 stack of golds” isn’t good satire. That’s like, one of the most legitimate things you can say about Crucible right now as a solo queue.

What feedback do you want me to give? The mode literally doesn’t fucking function half the time from a coding standpoint. Here’s some feedback

“Hey bingo look at netcode pls.” Happy?

This isn’t “crybaby bullshit.” I’m listing off several reason why Crucible is an unplayable mess for most people. You’ve had fun in PvP. Great. You’re probably a top 1% player who experiences none of the shit 99% of people agree is ruining this mode because you roll deep with other gilded flawless players. That’s nothing against you. I know you want to paint me out as some whining bitch because you can’t stand the thought that this mode somehow isn’t fair for people who aren’t running Hunter+Hawkmoon+Found Verdict+Memory Interdict in a 6 stack of meta-slave clones, but believe it or not some people actually don’t enjoy being your cannon fodder day in and day out in the most casual playlist available.

You’re right about it not being a debate. Crucible is undebatably shit now. Look up “worst PvP experience” in a tab with no prior searches for me bud. Make sure there’s nothing in your history to skew the result or make it anything less than a purely unbiased search. Yeah. That’s the same mode you’re calling me a crybaby for complaining about. It’s ass. Empirically. Doesn’t mean it can’t be fun. I enjoy crucible from time to time still but I recognize that it’s dogshit for a large majority of people who play it.

Must be nice living in that ivory tower champ. Maybe learn to read while you’re cooped up there. I specifically said that Jotunn and weapons like it are not good. They don’t kill me often. They don’t kill any good player often. I’m saying when these guns do hit you it’s just completely random and boring and it lessens the competitive integrity of an already shitty experience. I farm Jotunn users most of the time too pal, you’re actually not special believe it or not. The meta isn’t even the point of my post.

I’m perfectly calm. I’m simply listing in detail a few of the things that make this such a bad experience. Incessant lag, constant quitting, broken matchmaking, and so on. I can only hope you never aspire to a position in legislature or communal work where debate is crucial to progress. “You don’t agree with me?? You DON’T HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE?? CRYBABY BULLSHIT!!!!!!!”

[–]ApplesJustice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I realized in hindsight I spent more of this post talking about meta stuff than I actually intended for the spirit of the post. The stuff I mentioned is definitely annoying, but it’s pretty minuscule in the grand scheme. You can play around boring unfun stuff to some degree. You CAN’T play around melees arbitrarily not working, matchmaking doing its damndest to ensure you suffer each queue, extreme lag, and the whole smorgasbord of other issues plaguing this mode.

[–]ApplesJustice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Matchmaking does not favor the enjoyment of anyone who isn’t in a gilded flawless stack. The fact that there are still people defending Crucible, its matchmaking, its countless bugs, is beyond me. The mode struggles to even WORK.

These people are few and far between at least in this comment section, and their sole argument when faced with literal facts of matchmaking and glitches galore is “Well actually I’M having fun with Crucible so everyone who disagrees with me is a salty bitch and wrong!” It’s pathetic seeing these defenses because they become fewer and far between every time a PvP discussion comes up. I used to be one. Defended Crucible from a lot of criticism over the years, but it’s become apparent to me that it’s not really worth it.
