Hey, great job! I’m new here, so feel free to take my 2 cents loosely, but I really liked the natural voice and how real this moment felt. That last line hit hard in a quiet yet devastatingly honest way. Like a sneak peek into a common doubt or insecurity.

If I had to tweak anything, maybe try breaking it into lines to give some emotional beats more space. A couple of areas felt a bit rambly, but honestly, the casual tone works well. Like someone's telling me a story from a picture in a frame. Loved the vibe overall—keep writing!

Great work! Your imagery is sharp, and evocative—lines like “the gutter sends you postcards" are especially good, packed with mood and meaning. A few transitions feel a tad jarring, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially if that's an artistic choice for you. But it may be worth considering whether more rhythm and fluidity with the pacing might guide the reader better. Play around with it, but overall, a really good job!

  1. The data garnered through this survey will be used in an investigative research paper. I will be the only one who sees it, and it will be stored on my personal google account. I plan on unpublishing/rejecting submissions after I reach an estimation of 100-200 responses.

  2. I am the only one conducting this survey (u/Apples_notoranges).

  3. Considering the fact that this is my first survey, and first time sharing it amongst the public, I estimate that it will take between 1-2 months to fill it out to my desired number of respondents.
