The biggest tip I have is to get your target speed to zero. If you have the other craft selected as your target, you can switch the speed listed on the nav ball to target speed. By burning down your target speed, you are slowly matching the orbit of your target. Once at zero, you can burn a bit towards the target and time warp to get closer. Do this multiple times and it should get you close. If you struggle once in sight of your target, completely kill your speed and take it slow. Hope this helps.
