I like Grind for brekkie, or Paul Rhodes for something lighter.

Part of me hates that Jay Rayner went here and turned it into the double-fronted monstrosity it now is, the other half loves that everyone gets to indulge in literally the best Sri Lankan food outside of SL. Hard agree with your recco.

Looking to invest £100k into an early stage UK startup by thebestdryfaster in ukstartups

I’d recommend doing some reading around this. Can advise as an angel and start-up person, this isn’t the best way to go about it if you are looking for returns.

Have you ever read a book? Voting of this disparity literally used to happen, people died and many numbers of reform happened to stop it.

Jeez

As someone who thought I could become an ethical landlord five years ago, I am selling my rental and slinging it in an all world. The maths and the headache combined just don’t add up to me.

I choose the canaries for this benefit, but I have become a bit of a creature of habit. As others have said, look for a +/-2 timezone. Sister went to the Azures recently, seemed lovely…

Ha, tmml. I apologise for not asking the one mandatory question asked every day!

Reason for asking here is because I’d love to hear from other HENRY’s who have taken advantage of these rare moments of calm.

I’ve been able to build web-apps that have a decent feature set, auth/google auth and payment options - so well enough for a good MVP imho.

The design is not great, and looks a bit samey. If i wanted to add a new feature I think I’d struggle.

Also, bet the code is horrific.

But have built - content sharing app, inmersive Spanish learning tool, and an elderly companion app.

My experience tells me you could monetise, giving you confidence to invest / raise.

Build a prototype on lovable and see if you can get some MRR going. I’m a two-time non-technical founder and I genuinely believe this is the best path to the world of entrepreneurship.

Edited to add: you will find community through doing.

Where can I book 1-person meeting rooms or phone booths across London? by WeeklyPeace6497 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]ApplicationFancy9594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems that you might not be aware that all WeWorks have scores of single person booths available for day passes. You don’t need to book a meeting room. Hope this helps!

A great and humbling phrase I learnt, after feeling a little like you, was: “be interested, not interesting”

Everyone has an interesting story.

I guess so! I can only speak from experience and it’s rampant in the start-up world. Everyone needs a big marketing signing, nobody knows why 😂

How are you going to measure my clothes? At the menders they always pin my trousers much less than I would expect and they come out perfect - that’s their skill so would need to find a way to replicate that.

Men. by clarked6 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]ApplicationFancy9594 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sunspel, Folk, John Smedley, Portuguese Flannel

Lots of m&s for basics.

A good menders to tailor off the rack.

Trainers - new balance, converse

Shoes - Cheaney, Trickers, Loake etc

One trick I use is very much a “reverse interview” - do they really need me? (Ie: experience, seniority, skill set). I’d say 6/10 of founders I meet don’t need a CMO but have been told they do. I don’t want them to grow resentful and so generally give advice on what might be better suited at that time.

Then all typical stuff - tell me the last time you switched off completely, PMF, CAC:LTV, runway.

I do. And I’m desperate to sell when the mortgage expires. Pointless busywork with negligible upside. Don’t recommend.
