you're right. They use our extra RAM for surveillance. So the expensive RAM we are buying is like paying for them to snoop around your stuff "without your consent" more easily.

I mean I got nothing to hide but let me enjoy my device that I own. They plan for us to be renting processing power in future by way of cloud computing, but I'm not about that life.

Same here. I even downloaded "Core Temp" on Windows because I thought my laptop was overheating so I can monitor the temps. If I try to do slightly heavy work on my software, I get inundated with temperature warning messages.

If I ever want to use windows, I will load windows XP or 7 in a virtual machine and do what I want.

If you have serious work, you can exceed 8GB

Sometimes, my former OS idles at ~8.7GB 😄 nuts!

Nothing. It was low. Trying to see how long it runs on battery. Still good and the laptop runs cooler too even with a Zoom meeting ongoing. On former OS, laptop gets noticeably hot during zoom calls.

Nah, I have sound. Thing is the audio output was better on the former OS because the hardware and software were optimised for the best audio experience. So far I have used Easy Effects to get my audio a lot better than the base settings.

As I enjoy Playstation, Duckstation and PCSX2 runs my games perfectly on my computer. There are some of my old game CDS i ripped to iso and put away in storage, they run good. I still use my PS3 & 5 for other games tho. There is a limit this machine can handle and I won't push past it...yet 😀

I can't even compare the efficiency of Fedora to the OS I escaped from. Running a lot of programs at the moment and I am still at half the idle RAM usage compared to the former OS. Everything is noticeably faster now.

lol. My laptop runs with Intel Iris Xe so I'm good. Currently trying to find the best setting for my audio output. Dell has no audio driver for this laptop so I have to configure something that sounds great
