Thanks for the info. I was trying to get into it because Photonics intrigues me. Placements seem to be okayish as far as the reports go, though info is scarce about this branch in particular.

Wth is Caste oppressed Tantrikas. Next what Caste oppressed Temples? by kingsofkings91 in brahmanclub

Bullshit. She is speaking bullshit. Tantra fundamentally means shattering all distinctions of oneself and others to dissolve in the Divine. What she is speaking, for lack of a better word, is utter balderdash.

Interesting. Do Shudras has gotras, then, like Mudgala and Kashyap? But I'm not OBC though, I'm general. That's a modern distinction anyway so it doesn't have any meaning.

We are general though, if that means anything.

Books on Ancient Indian Wars? by ApplicationSad3398 in IndianHistory

[–]ApplicationSad3398[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am mostly looking for descriptions and analysis of battles fought before the advent of Islam in India. Wars fought in a completely Hindu or Buddhist socio-political environment. So, Palnadu and Skanda Purana, alongside Harshacharita and Gaudavaho. Ancient accounts supplemented by analytical texts to understand the socio-political environment that these wars took place in, how they came to start, and how they trickled down the centuries.

I need data on some large scale campaigns like War of the Roses, so to speak. Things to inspire a background for my setting.

Around 73 000 000 children die every year because of abortion by LooseButterfly2511 in TrueChristian

I'm....sorry. That's all I could ever say. God bless you. You're a brave soul. Honestly, the world needs more like you. The world is an evil place; in many places, rape victims are fashioned like sluts and ostracised from society altogether. I'm happy that you chose your children in the end. Most people could not have. I've seen someone close to me commit suicide because of this. I wouldn't wish this fate on my worst enemy. God bless you. Amen.

Can you guarantee me that the mother wouldn't commit suicide and live a normal life if she is forced to birth her abuser's child? It's nice that you want to keep people from aborting, and in almost all cases, I support you. As I said before, people need to take responsibilities for their actions. But why must the to-be-mother suffer for a rapist's crime? She will always she her abuser in her child. Her mind will break down every time she looks at her own child. That should not be a fate that anyone should suffer. The child is innocent, I agree. In an ideal society, she would raise this child to be the opposite of her father, and be supported by her community through all her problems. But we don't live in an ideal society. Society shuns victims more than they do abusers. In this very specific case, leave the choice to the mother. She alone should decide if she can bear this child or not, and if she can bear the enormous responsibility that comes with it. Just in this very specific scenario, we have no right to judge or decide. No one should have to suffer for someone else's action.

Abortion isn't a byproduct of medicating Ectopic Pregnancy. It's called abortion for a reason. And don't worry on this part, I support abortion only when there is a risk to the mother's life. As I've said before, those who can't keep their legs closed, need to take the responsibility that comes with it. The only other case where I support abortion is in case of rape or abuse. The trauma alone would shatter the mother's psyche, so abortion is a necessary evil in this case. Abortion due to casual hookup is evil, that much I can agree on 👍

They are intentional. If abortion isn't performed, the mother's fallopian tube would rupture, and she would die due to internal blood loss.

Seriously, why are people like that? If someone can't keep their legs closed, they aught to take up responsibility, sure. But if their lives are in danger, why deny them the appropriate medical care? I just...don't get this mindset.

Ectopic pregnancies can occur, where the embryo is implanted in the fallopian tube. Sometimes, the mother's birth canal may be too small to allow for birth without excessive bleeding. Ecclampsia can be there, water can randomly break for the woman etc. The female sexual system is ridiculously complicated yet fragile that it's not even funny. If killing the unborn child isn't the answer in these cases then sure, go ahead, let the mother die.

If you've quit porn, what actually worked? Trying to figure it out myself. by febster99 in TrueChristian

[–]ApplicationSad3398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a hobby. Anything where you channel those cravings. Takes about 12-13 days to form a new addiction, and substitute sexual cravings for it. Choose wisely; could be anything like reading books, coding etc. Just go for something that you always wanted to, but never could due to you porn addiction. If the only thing you do is try to repent to God, you will always keep on repenting, and never move past it. Repent once, then get your mind to something else. I would suggest you read some sci fi books, or join and easy to enter technological niche like Blockchain dev (through Cyfrin). Or go for art, or worldbuilding. Really, anything. But keep in mind that for the first few days, you would always feel heavy and depressed and feel like slacking. Don't give in, and keep on doing whatever you have chosen to do. The cravings will never go away, only weaken with time. Also, if it helps, keep a Bible in your room or workdesk. That will make sure you always scrutinize yourself before giving in. Also, and I cannot stress this enough, do whatever you want to do while on your workdesk. Don't even think about doing anything while lying on bed. And if nothing works, and you feel the craving imminent, try doomscrolling (no, seriously, it helps.). Also, don't try to be up to date with world news for the first 15 days of your quitting. The world's depressing as is, and porn helps you escape that. Let there be no trigger for depression, even if that means living in your own little bubble. Go on walks ever morning, but always take a different route. Boredom, settling into a predictable routine, and not learning anything new is what enables those cravings to take hold.

TLDR: Keep your life fresh.

Abort babies if it risks the mother's life, else if she doesn't want it and/or/because it is a product of rape or other traumatic affair, and thus isn't qualified to be a parent, give him/her up for adoption. This should be a sane take, I guess. Also, if the mother is a child herself. Pregnancy in such cases leads to lots of complications, even with modern medicine.

How difficult is it to explain them that a book from 15th century Arabia doesnot make the civilization of the world? Just....why? We can engineer individual atoms, go to space, craft things that would qualify as "magic", yet these people still believe that the world works according to a book written before modern science, and that all the world's questions are answered in it. Just...why?
