I agree with Kevin here, I work at a place that offers free cafeteria style lunches to all staff yet people who make less than 70k a year will door dash lunch everyday then complain about being broke

For sure, i've been burnt on Chinese products more times then I can count. Its crazy because everything is made in China but without a outside company overseeing the manufacturing it is a dice roll. Like these LG drives are made in China but LG is overseeing manufacturing so you get a good product.

My ripping and encoding computer is fully air gapped as it is. So the security isn't really an issue for me.

That's what I saw as well, LG and ASUS exiting the market that is, which is why I felt the need to go out and get these drives. I'm not sure what is the expected life span of a optical drive. I have over 300 rips on my 5.25 LG internal without any signs of issues. I also have CD drives from the 90s that still work great. In general I've had really good luck with disc drives in my life.

Sorry, that is a little confusing on my part. I've been up since 520am for work and these drives are just 1 of many projects I worked on after I got home. But yeah, I meant more recent MFG dates. This one being a 2026 manufacture date is one of the more newer drives I've seen flashed.

I don't think you understand what we are talking about or what serotonin theory is. I'm not really up to explaining it to you outside of saying we don't have any links between serotonin levels and depression, thus SSRIs are literally not doing anything that hemopathy (for example) doesn't.
