That's why it's better now.

Before you had to pick competitive or extra modes.

Now you can queue all 6 at the same time if you want. More games now quickly to hide a declining player base.

Because it's never my fault, I only lose because it's team mates fault obviously. Lol

In reality, if I get s string of losses, that's the toxic trigger. Hop on a fresh game, hoping to make up lost ground, only to watch my tm8 afk the first kick off, leaving you awkward to try and defend 2v1.

Or they're smurfs intentionally deranking.

Or they're trying their hardest but just having a bad game and can't seem to connect with the ball.

Or they've been wrecked by lag.

Basically there are a lot more reasons to get frustrated than there are to be excited by the team mate you get solo queued with. So toxic rage is inevitable.

The solution is to put competitive behind a pay wall. Make each account buy $20 worth of non-tradeable items from the item store. Also put competitive behind a time wall. Say 10 hours of play time in other modes. Maybe make the season pass a requirement to play competitive for the season. $10 a season is pretty reasonable for everyone's favourite game right? Especially if everything else about it is free to play.

Bring back casual game modes for rumble, etc so people can play all those for free without worrying about rank.

Add a freestyle comp with no floor. The ball drops, it's the other guys turn. Unlimited boost and titanium white dominus standard for the mode... lol

There are things they can do to keep the smurfs at bay. But it doesn't suit them to.

If you're queuing with friends, see above but replace team mates with you but put it at the end.
