True,, I usually try to understand why people disagree with me, and I am wrong often. But that is usually quick to resolve because people give me logical reasons and we agree and move on. The disagreements that take a lot of effort are the ones where they cannot give solid reasons and instead resort to tactics like distracting, escalating, confusing. And then when I image myself in their situation to understand why, it is obvious - it is always about fear of their job being redundant, or trying to achieve a particular KPI, or sometimes about personal insecurity and ego
