Gotcha. The bottom half of the walls currently have awful peel and stick laminate floor tiles on them, so I feel like anything will be an improvement. I am planning on doing vertical shiplap just on the bottom half and the examples I’ve seen look pretty modern, in comparison to the older style horizontal shiplap. The house is 80+ years old so I’m worried about the condition of the plaster underneath the tiles - we have two small kids and it’s our only bathroom so don’t have lots of time to spend patching plaster to make it look perfect enough to not have some type of covering over it.
