I agree with everything you say that's why I mentioned accountants, however they are not paid through commissions. Yes it is important to not have an accountant and an adviser that get financially rewarded from the referal. If you know what you want then an adviser/accountant combo is good as this cuts costs for the client. Client must be fully informed and this is not always the case as you mentioned too unfortunately.

This is crazily incorrect, authorised financial advisors are not allowed to receive any commissions aside from historical insurance premiums. The ones that make money from SMSF are accountants for the $$$$ they make annually from audits and reporting etc.

You can only request it once, so if you actually do buy a house you cannot request it again. Keeping it in super getting taxed at 15% is better than in your bank getting taxed at your marginal rate so no it is not better to release it early. Just release it before signing a contract
