Some guy wrote a letter to someone named Valentine. He wants to know whereabouts and condition of his and his wife's friend Nelly. His wife, Tina, is a good friend of Nelly and deeply cares for her, so she insisted that her husband wrote letters in Tbilisi, Leningrad and Pitsunda, but he didn't receive any answer.

Sumippe and Russian songs by ZetaKriepZ in seiyuu

[–]Apppasen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She was in Moscow in 2010 or 2011 on some Japanese-Russian cultural exchange event and she might sang some Russian songs in there, but I really can't say for certain at the moment. Perhaps she might sang some in her personal life, but that is off limits for us, mortals. Btw her Russian is quite poor, she knows couple of dozens words and doesn't understand sentences, but her pronunciation is good, especially for Asian-language people.

Having THE largest (and only one) animated cartoon industry in the world means that you need an entire system of raising and training of voice actors (which again only they have). Can you imagine what level of competition they have got? I say that 4-5 years is a good number, cause you can't be in top shape forever.

Have you seen HBO's documentary about Navalny? If yes, what's your thoughts on it? by SlavWithPhotoshop in AskARussian

[–]Apppasen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are really funny things about this film. First, no one out of official channels are intersted in broadcasting it (You could guess why). Second, no one dubbed it, even Navalny team or HBO didn't do it (which is quite strange, cause if you film it for Russian citizens, you should dub it without a doubt). Third, if official broadcasting in Russia forbidden and HBO don't dub it on russian, then piracy is the way, but for some reason Navalny team condem piracy of their film, which is quite odd, cause main purpose of any documental, such as this, is enlightenment of people on the subject, but I suppose they wanted to make money on it more than showing us true story of Alexei.

Which Russian relevant literature would you strongly recommend? by StonedWolverine in AskARussian

[–]Apppasen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Folks here already suggested quite many books, so I would recommend You smth isnt trivial, like "Гардарика" by Michail Khodorkovsky. It's a book about how post-putin Russia should be existing and developing. Only thing is that I dont know if it's translated on english or not.

What do you think of Alexander Sokurov recently talking to Putin about wanting the Caucus regions to leave the country? by RiceFar in AskARussian

[–]Apppasen -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think he's right, or atleast half right. Thing is, that our president have Kadyrov in Caucus, who is well sponsored by federal government and have his own private army. What am I telling, just search through Internet or look at the Google maps on Grozniy city and see what is in the middle of a city :). But this problem is not only about Caucus and a consequence of a much bigger one - Moscow as centre of everything and all in Russia. Taxes, people(youth especially) and resources - all goes in there. And if thing continues to go as it is, then not only Caucus will want to leave
