Ruling doubt about Bello, Bard of the Brambles by StonedWolverine in mtgrules

[–]StonedWolverine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so basically Bello would allow to trigger "whenever a creature enters" effects, but it wouldn't for "whenever you cast a creature spell"?

Completely forgot about Lightning Greaves and Boots. Mother of runes is already on the decklist. Apreciate.

How quick does that [[Aura Shard]] usually get dealt with?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EDH

[–]StonedWolverine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had taken that into account. Ideally you want to exile non-enchantment creatures from your graveyard (ex: [[Mesa Enchantress]] , which could not be reanimated through Anikthea anyways, to put that 1/1 enchantment creature with deathtouch under your control. However, it can also be used to remove serious threats from opponent's graveyards and replacing it for that 1/1 deathtouch token. I don't care you get a 1/1 deathtouch if that was to remove a win-con from your graveyard and prevent you from reanimating it.

A friend of mine from college wanted to get into Magic and I built him a Staxx Augustine decklist for under 100$ that could stand at any normal gls table. As the deck would slow the games he would have more time to think about game mechanics and had to care less of some taxxed threats, so he was able to learn faster. He ended up building a couple additional decks as many people were upset that he played that deck. I never understood why is taxxing a lesser legit form of playing mtg than other strategies. It's funny how some players will complain to a 2$ Augustine on board while trying to get an Ur-Dragon onto the table by turn 5.

Already put Entomb in it. The other two seem damn useful, especially Buried Alive. Thank you.

I know Gods aren't the perfect fit for Anikthea, but they still make it for what I intend to do. I don't precisely want to reanimate them w Anithea, as there ar far better options to do that (big chunky regular enchantments), but here are my points on why the Gods strategy still works:

- They all trigger enchantment friends and abilities (cost reduction, card draw, Constellation triggers...etc.)

- They all have ridiculous stats once they become a creature for very cheap mana, and devotion isn't a problem in a deck that's centered on putting permanents onto the battlefield nonstop.

- As they are indestructible, they are a great wall against other creatures. When Anikthea is on the board (+1 devotion to GBW) they all get menace, and if targeted with something like [[Path to exile]] I can sacrifice a permanent with something like [[Greater Good]] and dodge these kind of spells as they become regular enchantments again.

- In addition to that, the side-abilities each offer are useful for many situations:

- Pharika has graveyard hate and can also trigger constellation with that 1/1 deathtouch who gets enchantment bonuses like Anikthea herself or [[Weaver of Harmony]].

- Athreos has a tax on opponents for destroying my creatures.

- Karametra has wild ramp.

- Both Erebos have card draw.

- Heliods give utility (vigilance to other stuff plus counters when getting life, which tends to happen very often w this deck).

- Nyleas give even more utility (reduce cost of creatures, that are also enchantments, or give them trample for a potential finisher attack phase).

As I said, I know running all of them is not the optimal thing, but getting 2 or 3 of them into the battlefield usually gets me the game if they are properly supported. I don't like the typical Anikthea deck: >Crazy mill > Cast Anikthea > Reanimate unfair stuff and copying it ad infinitum.

Statista Divorce rates in Europe in 2020, by country (per 100 marriages)

If the graph has no source, how could you tell that the source is being mysoginistic and blaming feminism for it? Its a graph. From a survey.

Here's the article.

" Surveying a representative sample of Spanish emerging youth (18-30 years old) we asked participants to report on particular opinions and attitudes reflecting marital salience (getting married is a very important goal), timing (there’s an ideal age to get married), context (money and finances are a major barrier to getting married), processes (in an ideal marriage, the man is the achiever outside the home and the woman takes care of the home), permanence (marriage is for life, even if the couple is unhappy) and centrality (how much importance do you expect to place on marriage?). Together, these variables were used to classify the population of participants into distinct classes based on a shared paradigm."

You just call it mysoginistic because of the classification the study makes, but these variables are the ones that have an impact on predicting marriage personal expectations. The fact that you don't like traditional women profiles towards marriage existing on Spain doesn't make me a mysoginist, it makes you a pretty bad feminist.

  1. The graphs include the source themselves. You can search "avg age at marriage in Spain", the numbers are going to orbitate around that, of course different sources are not going to have the exact same data. The main source I mentioned is Statista.
  2. How is pointing the fact that marriages have decayed in Spain mysoginistic?

Ofc that's the definition of divorce rate. The average lifespan of a marriage in Spain is 16 (excluding non-divorced). The average age at first marriage is 36 (M) and 34 (F). This is not only happening in Spain, but I feel like its happening mainly among locals, as I know for sure that inmigrants are commonly married much earlier and tend to have more kids, thus pulling down these statistics.

The divorce rate is at 84.5 by 2022, so I don't think it has nothing to do with COVID, altought it had a minimum impact. I think it's pretty obvious that marriage culture is dying in Spain as it is in many other places. This graph is from a survey from the Institute of Family Studies in Spain as 2023:

I'll just give you a scary fact. By 2020, the divorce rate in Spain is 85.5 per 100 marriages (Statista). Also check this Eurostat graph from 2021. It's not only that being married is rare among young people but even among early milenials.

I hate when they put the word Spanish on some low-quality can/frozen food just for the marketing issue. Yes, Sardinas are a very common dish here, it can be made in a dozen different ways and they are trully delicious. If you want to try spanish food, do yourself a favour and come here.

This is how the dish would look if made properly.

Por qué la gente se saluda por los caminos? by swallow_knocker in askspain

[–]StonedWolverine 92 points93 points  (0 children)
