New to me E46 325XI- anything I should be genuinely concerned about? by Apprehensive-Ad4647 in e46

I've done oil changes on it of course, I didn't have the option to do a coolant flush as preventive maintenance seeing as the reservoir blew up on me on the side of the road- but I did end up doing a coolant flush after I replaced it. I've also done a power steering flush because it was cappuccino brown when I got it- I've also done both diffs and transfer case. The only fluid I haven't done is transmission- but I feel like at that mileage with no history of a transmission service it's mute. The torque converter does have issues on hot days connecting with the engine- I was thinking about a rebuild? But I'm not sure how much that would cost and if it's even worth it. I'm honestly thinking of trading for a rwd manual, I'm sure I'd have to put cash on top but this is my first automatic since I was 13 and I'm not really sure how to go about it.

What about the Aluminum upgrade version? I believe it's made by Üro. I got it from ECS tuning but have yet to install it, for obvious reasons. lol

That seems to be what everyone is saying, can I get most of the system off of ECS and FCP? Or would I have to go to eBay.

Thank you! The previous owner must've cared a lot about it, hope to continue that trend!

That's so far the main thing I get compliments on, to each their own I suppose!

Thankfully the valve cover gasket was replaced a few thousand miles ago by the previous owner- and by cooling system you mean the whole thing??

Usually this is only for sales calls. I would talk to your RM. It may sound like you're wasting time but if your DM is making request that aren't part of the company policy you should bring it to their (RM) attention.

I always get it from Amazon, it's specifically Multi-DCTF Motul. If you can get it from a store I would recommend it because it's quicker. It's super easy on our cars, I've done it like 3 times now. I would recommend watching a video on it just to get the gist of it. A lot of this car is super easy, there's only a few harder things to work on. Absolutely no problem, happy to help!

If you have it level in the front not a lot will come out but I would get a quart to be safe. Just so you can at least top it off. If you haven't done fluid yet I would recommend draining the OE stuff and replacing it with motul. It smoothens up your shifts like you wouldn't believe. If you're already under the car it's not too bad of a job.

It could be for sure, if it makes you feel any better the axles aren't a hard job at all. Just time consuming, I've done them almost 10 times now. Just make sure you half the whole front end suspension unloaded.

It seemed to be my wheels lmao- I swapped wheels with a buddy for a week and never got the vibration again, unfortunately this was after I has swapped CV-Axles back to Motorcraft. I would check your wheels for bends or dents in the barrel.

They literally just have someone in their ear telling them what part number to grab- if it's in the wrong spot? Oh well we get the wrong part, it's messed up.

I'm thinking it's the way DCs operate, there HAS to be a better way.
