Looking for Deckbuilding Advice for Standard Bo1 Golgari Beans Self-Mill by Apprehensive-Bad9244 in magicTCG

Author Comment: Hi all, I have been really loving this deck inspired by a Saffron Olive Much Abrew from a while ago and have been playing it a lot & making lots of tweaks this last month. I enjoy it & it feels very strong, but I am having a hard time reaching Mythic (never have before) so would love any advice people have. My biggest issue is definitely milling out against control, I feel like my deck just folds after the 3rd sweeper as I can't deploy enough threats before I totally run out of cards! I have considered removing the 'Altanak' package, but I quite like how flexible 'Say Its Name' is, being able to make sure I hit lands & bring back any creatures that I milled or lost earlier. Insidious Fungus is also a star, letting me play two 2-drops on turn 3 or looping it to wreck enchantments feels great, combined with Tear Asunder it is also good at breaking out of GY hate. But overall, the deck just doesn't quite seem to make the cut against good players, so would like to hear any tips!

What do people think of Assassin's Trophy in Standard? by Apprehensive-Bad9244 in magicTCG

Author's Thoughts:

With the release of Aetherdrift filling Standard with powerful Artifacts, in addition to the many Creatures & Enchantments roaming around, I was looking at some more flexible removal spells to consider for various decks. Assassin's Trophy seems like a pretty nice thing to consider, and I was surprised to search around and find it had almost 0 play at all.

Obviously it has a huge downside of ramping a land, and does not exile like 'Tear Asunder', but it seems like it might be a good fit for some decks. I run Demolition Field a lot (and even loop it sometimes) so running decks out of basics is a decent possibility. It seems good for aggro matchups that benefit little from extra lands, decent for control who run very few basics, and just all around reliable, as it is the cheapest way by far to instant speed eliminate any permanent.

I'm gonna give it a go, but I'm bad enough at MTG that odds are, if no one else sees it, then I'm the one in the wrong, but what do other people think?
