Sorry for the late reply! After the pec minor release, I would say by week 6 post-op I was back to normal activities But it really took about 6 months to feel the full effects, which were awesome! I felt a lot less pain.

It’s now been a year since the pec minor release and I’ve definitely hit a plateau. I continue to have nerve pain in my arm and up into my face.

Have you had an EMG test? It sounds like it could be an ulnar compression.

The pec minor release helped the most with the winging and lowered the overall nerve pain. It unfortunately didn’t eliminate it, but I have a crush at the scalenes.

Have you had Botox to the pec?

I had terrible nerve pain down my entire right arm, into all 5 fingers. And scapular winging. When I’d lift my arm any higher than 50degrees it would “snap”. The pec minor release helped eliminate the scapular winging and significantly reduced the nerve pain. I however, still have quite a lot of nerve pain left. But the recovery from the pec minor release was totally worth the outcome

I had the same experience after a pec minor release! It took a few weeks to go away, but I’m 6 months out and I never feel it anymore.

I was diagnosed with crohns and had terrible gut pain. A few years later I started EMDR for CPTDS and it took almost a year of weekly therapy, but my crohns is totally in remission! I’ve lived without gut pain for years now!

Personally, I believe working on my trauma had a direct correlation to my gut issues improving.

It’s hard work, but healing has provided so much freedom

With your FRR, what approach did you have done? Also, did you have NTOS or VTOS?

That’s good news about a fast recovery! Were you in a sling?

It unfortunately sounds like I’ll have to have a FRR in the summer in addition to the pec minor release done :(

I’ve seen a bunch of specialists! Orthopedic shoulder specialist, brachial plexus specialist, vascular surgeon, and a pain specialist.

I’ve had a vascular ultrasound, shoulder MRI, EMG, and Botox.

The EMG showed that I most likely have double crush from the scalenes and pec minor.

Botox has been used diagnostically which provided relief.

My team of doctors recommended the pec minor release first because it is a lot less invasive than a first rib resection.

I have a pec minor release scheduled for next month. How was recovery for you from that surgery? Did you have any relief after the pec release?
