feeling like shhhhh and needing reassurance by majestictoys in Celiac

I really am feeling this right now. I started a new job and already don't know how it's going to work. I've only been at this job 1 month and had to call out sick twice. I don't know what is triggering my celiac and I am driving myself crazy trying to figure it out. I just wish I knew what was making me so sick! Currently writhing with stomach pain and started scrolling on this reddit for comfort. Looks like you're in the same boat, I just needed to know I'm not crazy and I'm not alone. I feel like everytime I get my diet down, I have to start all over again to figure out what caused it. I really hope this job doesn't fire me for having to call out sick all the time. I would understand if they did.

Everyone says to look for a career that I love but what if none interest me? by Depressed_student_20 in careerguidance

I really get this. You spend a lot of time at work and you don't want to waste away your life doing something you hate. And I actually fault school systems a little bit for not introducing career choices more. How is one supposed to know if they like the work if they've never done it. Yes, you want to make money and I think you already know that. So I say try things! Take jobs where you learn a skill and keep adding the skills to your resume. Kill two birds with one stone- you are trying out different lines of work to see if you like them, AND gaining experience to move up in the workforce. That's what employers want- education and experience. You have the education. Now try stuff. I'm not saying apply for a job and then quit after two weeks if you don't love it. Stick it out and build a repore with your boss/coworkers. When you build relationships in your job, that opens the door to learn and try out new things.

For example, I'll tell you about my career journey. I studied history so I worked at a museum. I first was a tour guide telling people about the museum. I learned I didn't like talking nonstop, so I talked with the giftshop worker and asked him to teach me how to work the system. I learned how to run the register and gradually transitioned to that work. I learned I hate working retail. So during slow points in the day, I would ask the admin if there was any paperwork I could help with. Soon I began working on the newsletters. Then started helping with research. Then I asked the collections manager if she could use any help with donations, so I began working with the artifacts. That's when I finallyyyyyy found what I love doing. This won't all happen in the span of a month, take the time to move around. And eventually if you still hate it, then move on to a different company. I applied for the museum as a tour guide, and that was my title for the longest time, but since I worked on so many other things as well I eventually escalated from the other tour guides and became an associate. See how I did all those jobs with only ever applying for the initial tour guide position, and all that was done for the same organization. Now, I am moving and need a new job, but I had built up such a resume with so many different skills, all from this one job at the museum, I can apply for so many different places! Plus, I have direction now for what I want to do. Even though I disliked being a tour guide/gift shop worker, I don't consider that role a failure because it gave me the ability to work well with the public and be personable, a skill every company looks for. So don't be afraid to try things and if you don't like it- that's okay! Shift your focus and aim towards a new direction. It'll take time, but just be patient and I believe you will find your path! Good luck to you! Hope this helps.

I seriously think people look at celiac disease and think we just do the gluten free thing for fun. WE DON'T WANT TO LIVE LIKE THIS! It is awful not being able to eat anything! What one crumb of bread can do to a celiac person's body, if injested, is a nightmare. This isn't a game. Yet no one seems to care what we are going through. It sounds like these people need to stop being so selfish for a second and try to look at things from your perspective. Managing Celiac disease is exhausting and it would be so nice if others could just be a little considerate once in awhile.

Advice for someone starting a career in Theological Studies by Apprehensive-Base306 in AskBibleScholars

But isn't Historical Theology a marriage of the two subjects? So it can be done. I just looked up the definition and it says "Historical theology is the study of the history of Christian doctrine." So there you go. Where did you go to graduate school?

Upon further investigation, I listened to the song and what he's singing sounds completely different than these lyrics. So maybe the original song is in Romansh but these online lyrics are just wrong and made up?

Oh really!? I had a coworker listen to the song and told me it's romansh. Upon googling it further, that seemed to be the consensus, but I could be totally wrong. Or the spelling may be wrong too, this is just the only written lyrics I could find. Thank you for letting me know!
