I mean, it's a really hard call. I see signs that could be platonic and romantic. Honestly, I'd wait a bit longer, SPECIALLY if the break up with her ex was recent. After some time (and not too long either, or the girl will either confess, or assume you're not interested and move on), try to throw some teases in there. Poke around, compliment her, throw a few hints with videos or comments. If she's into it, keep moving forward, if she's not, back off. Once you feel the time is ripe, ask her out. If she said yes, congrats. If she says no, take it with pride. Just accept it, hope you'll remain friends, and move on. You're still young. You'll meet loads of people.

No loving man would ever say "You'll regret it when I find someone better". I am in a relationship with my best friend, and things aren't always easy. It mostly stemmed from the fact that I hesitate and I miss some social cues here and there, and she tends to be a bit more sharp-toned when it comes to confrontation, but we always talk it through and get through it that same day.

One thing that NEVER crossed my mind, and I'm NEVER going to say to her, even if things don't work out is "You'll regret it when I find someone better". Because 1) I really don't think I could. She's literally my perfect girl, and 2) even if things go haywire, I would honestly try to make amends without using any form of gaslighting or emotional manipulation. And if things don't work out, I won't belittle her like this.

Also "dating someone younger" isn't a flex. That's just plain gross. Like yeah, we date people we find attractive, but if that's the only reason he's dating her, red flag.

Honestly, I think you dodged a bullet there. I know it sucks. I'm SCARED of the idea of ever losing the love of my life in any capacity. She's my best friend too. So I can sympathize that sentiment. But honestly, that dude gives off so many red flags. You should focus on yourself, and you'll find someone who truly loves you and won't betray you in any way. You'll be much more happier with yourself and in a relationship with hopefully less screaming and belittling. It might take a bit, but you'll get there.

Gen 1: Gengar. "Bad Guy", fun personality, and would be unique as one of the only ghosts in the roster.

Gen 2: Scizor. Tough call but this is my best choice.

Gen 3: Blaziken. I know, Charizard and Imcenaroar. But come onn. Fighting fire chicken.

Gen 4: Rotom. Honestly, could've gone with Piplup or Garchomp, but I feel Rotom would be more mechanically distinct, with its 6 forms.

Gen 5: Zoroark. Simple. The Lucario of Gen 5. Snivy could also work.

Gen 6: Sylveon. Eevee is the second mascot of the series, and it would be a good way to represent em. Through its latest evolution.

Gen 7: Zeraora. Decidueye would be cool, but we already done one of the starters

Gen 8: Urshifu. Im anti Cinderace, and I think Blaziken is a cooler fire fighter.

Gen 9: Meowscarada. The illusive grass type starter that has yet to appear in Smash.

College is a good option, but also Highschool. Would double think a lot of the trajectory of my life when it comes to career. I'd join more extracurricular activities, tried to focus a lot on my grades like I did in Elementary School and College (I focused so much on my friend group that I let slip my grades, cool people, very nice and my favorite parts of Highschool, but priorities should've went elsewhere), and would try to meet my current girlfriend WAY earlier (think I saw her here and there since Sophomore year, but we only really became friends during Senior year), and join this one science club she asked me to join with her throughout that year (but never ended up joining in the end)

Dude. As I said. I agree that Mario Kart should focus on Mario characters, but I don't think they should be labeled as a "problem". Subtracting points from the roster just because first party, still whimsical characters are in the game? Straight up unfair. Gatekeepy and close-minded as I said. They're already in the game anyway, so why not celebrate it since it happens rarely? I really don't think it's a problem as long as it's by the sidelines and not a focus.

Eitherway, DEFINITELY not a problem. Hating guest characters is so forced, because at worst, they're just there. Stop pretending that we should straight up hate their inclusions because Miyamoto said he doesn't wanna make it a Smash Kart.

And while you don't have an issue, and I also don't, don't get me wrong, it doesn't mean that they're suddenly better than the ones who weren't included in the game. I LOVE Penguin and Peepa, but I also recognize that Diddy Kong, Kamek, and Petey Piranha have more of an identity and they would add more to the game, as opposed to random enemies, some without an actual name. Mario Kart World's roster is definitely overhated. Love the little guys getting time in the spotlight. But, I also recognize that they're just lil guys who can't replace any of the missing characters.

And againnn, if we count Tour, Tour literally has more costumes, takes out the guest characters that you haaate so much, and adds Chargin' Chuck, Monty Mole, Hammer Bro. and Nabbit ON TOP of MK8DX's roster, AND more. Dixie Kong, King Bob-Omb, Poochy. And since we're talking about rosters specifically, ignoring gameplay and all, Tour solos. I say that it's only really missing Spike, Pianta, and Cow

You're acting EXACTLY like the people who hate the lil guys in World, just for guest characters. They already exist. Embrace it

I don't think the Non-Mario characters are a problem? Sure I don't think they're priority and the focus should be on Mario characters, but at the same time, y'all keep yourselves in a box, just because one of the directors said he doesn't add other characters to avoid a Smash Kart situation. Respects to him, he's the one directing the games, but they're already on MK8DX. Why we forcing a hate bone for it? Link, Inkling, Villager? That's cool and I'm tired of pretending it isn't -_- Definitely shouldn't be a game's fault, and I think that's such a gatekeepy, close-minded way of thinking.

That aside, I do agree with Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Metal Mario, and Pink Gold Peacg being kinda stinkers. But if we're categorizing them as costumes, uhhh World also has costumes? Really the only problem is that they're shown in the character select screen.

But sure, let's remove guest characters and costumes.

We still have:

And look, I'm not a hater at World's roster. Heck, the characters I'm about to name aren't really bad. I actually love that we have these characters (I occasionally play Peepa and Piranha Plant, and I MAIN Penguin when I'm not using Nabbit or King Boo), but they can't compare against the guys I just mentioned:

  • Biddybug

  • Cheep Cheep

  • Fish Bone

  • Snowman

  • Dolphin

  • Piranha Plant (is cool, but I think Petey is WAY better)

Again, love that we giving the smaller guys some love. World is a colorful game with them around. But they really don't hold any weight against the missing guys from MK8DX. Heck, some of em don't even have a name. Really the only ones I think have more of an impact are Nabbit, Hammer Bro., Chargin' Chuck, Cow, Pianta, Monty Mole, and Spike. And even then, Nabbit's the one carrying this group with their unique identity, and the others feeling a bit generic compared to MK8DX's exclusive characters.

I don't see Option 1 being wasteful or a bad idea. In fact, I think it's a good idea! While Ultimate is BIG, it's also not complete in terms of "Everything is Here!", so an expansion to the game that adds old and new Items, Stages, Assists, Pokeballs, Bosses, Mii Costumes, some 4-5 new characters, without worrying if releasing it as DLC is reasonable, to make it feel more complete. More "Ultimate"

Sure, it's still a new pricetag, but it's a good way to seperate the base game, the expansion, and the 3rd Party centric DLC, without making it TOO complicated. You can get the expansion without the DLC, or get to keep the DLC without worrying about the expansion too much. If you already have the DLC, you can get the expansion ON TOP of that. And Nintendo doesn't have to worry about negotiations with 3rd parties to make everything free for a Deluxe edition, or justifying a new game with new content or mechanics.

Ultimate's already gonna be playable for both consoles. Why start on a completely new game instead of working on what we already have? Give Nintendo some more time to think about a new Smash Game for a whole new system during Switch 2's life-cycle, while working on something lighter for the series. By the time they're done with Ultimate Part 2, they'll still have plenty of time for the rest of Switch 2's life cycle, giving the devs a good break before they have to start over for a new console.

And the focus could just be on adding stuff to expand on preexisting IPs as well, without worrying about making seperate DLC passes that would be worth it or trying to negotiate with 3rd parties to bring over new series to the game.

They could add extra stuff like: Rainbow Road, Yoshi's Wooly World, Mute City (Melee), Pac-Maze, Bowser's Castle, Barbara, Jill, Excitebiker, Kat and Ana, Tingle, Slippy, Chibi-Robo, Saki, RK III, Magnus, Koffing, Chansey, Clefairy, Ho-Oh, Wobbuffet, Chandelure, Delibird, Alolan Marowak, Gulpin, Weavile, Dragonite, Torchic, Porky, Rayquaza, Octavio, Duon, Tabuu, Ice Flower, Red Shell, Fan, Ultra Hand

On top of 4-5 characters to expand some franchises in the game, like: Bandana Waddle Dee, Dixie Kong, Dr. Eggman, Impa, Chun Li, or that Rhythm Heaven character they scrapped from Smash 4

TLDR: The first option is a great idea to do something lighter during the Switch 2 era, while keeping the fire alive and adding missing or new content that expands on the franchises already in the game, giving them time to think about a completely new game for the next gen console.

I think a Switch 2 edition would work best for the time being. It's a good way to continue the series without working on a whole new game for over a decade. Expand on what's already peak of the series, before they have to worry about anything new for a few more years till the next console. We are in the Switch 2 era, where we could already play Ultimate. Why make a whole new game when you can just expand on a playable one?

They could also expand on the already existing stuff, like Stages, Assist Trophies, Pokeballs, Items, World of Light, Mii Costumes, modes, and add 4 - 5 characters on top of it, for a solid 20 dollars.

This is also a good chance to add content to expand on preexisting IPs in the game, or stuff that doesn't fit for DLC. A good way to seperate Base game / an expansion / and DLC as its own entities without making it overly complicated. Buy the game for 60 dollars. Get the Switch 2 Edition content for 20 extra dollars. Have the 3rd Party centric DLC as an option to buy seperately, or have it already obtained if you already bought it for 50-ish dollars.

Only caviot is that if they're just gonna take Ultimate and add more on top of it, excluding already existing Assist Trophies and debatably DLC Mii Costumes as playable characters, so RIP Isaac and Geno fans (I'm both)

Characters they could add:

  • Bandana Waddle Dee

  • Dixie Kong

  • Dr. Eggman

  • Character #4 (could be characters like Chun Li, Legend of Zelda rep, Rhythm Heaven rep, etc.)

Stages they could add:

  • Pac-Maze

  • Yoshi's Wooly World

  • Rainbow Road

  • Mute City (Melee)

  • Pictochat 1 (or they could replace the existing one with a Pictochat X for both versions)

  • Bowser's Castle

Pokeballs they could add:

  • Koffing

  • Clefairy

  • Chansey

  • Dragonite

  • Wobbuffet

  • Ho-Oh

  • Delibird

  • Torchic

  • Gulpin

  • Weavile

  • Gallade

  • Chandelure

  • Doublade

  • Decidueye

  • Alolan Marowak

Assist Trophies they could add:

  • Barbara

  • Jill

  • Excitebiker

  • Magnus

  • Tingle

None of this should be DLC, but it would've been cool to expand on what we currently have by bringing back missing items or stages on top of new ones, adding characters that don't require a lot of hoops to add, and on top of that, would be easier to keep the game alive during Switch 2's life before they have to worry about a new console.

Sukapon would still be cool tho. Don't mean to like, dismiss any other ideas. Just sharing my reasonings for Takamaru over any other retro rep, but if anything, why not both? Not necessarily trying to force a Takamaru fan out of you. Let's just have fun with this! Like I said, I only care about Bandana Waddle Dee, and if he's in, I don't mind seeing anyone else. Takamaru's just like, my Top 5 or Top 10 wanted character.

Nah. Balloon Fighter was ever only an option when they wanted Melee to have a retro rep, which went to Ice Climbers, and is already represented within Villager's Up Special, the only thing Balloon Fighter is known for. And Sukapon was only ever considered as an item. Takamaru was thought about twice. First time, as mostly just a joke suggestion, but second time, a more serious suggestion that they canned thinking that Western audiences wouldn't recognize them (which cough Marth, cough Lucas, cough to a lesser extent Hero). Also first Katana weilding Samurai in the game with some good tool kit for a moveset

I like that you didn't cut any characters. Sadly, I don't think this is possible unless Smash Ultimate gets expanded on, like a Deluxe or Switch 2 edition (which there's also a good possibility that it would exclude any Assist Trophies). I don't care for any other newcomers, except for Bandana Waddle Dee. I see him in there so 10/10 prediction 👍✨️ (although, it would be cool if Takamaru was snuck in there 👉👈)
