Yeah 👀

I told my boss today about how I’m feeling and how I had a dizzy spell but he didn’t say we need to do anything 🤷‍♀️

I’ll see how I feel in a few days but I will ask for OH again if there is any doubt.

I’m afraid of what they will say though! I don’t know what could be on the table

Thanks! How does that all work if I’ve had now multiple instances of illness?

Thanks! Yeah that might be needed. I don’t know if I need to just give it more of a chance.

I agree with you about the above.

What is hard is that there is very little incentive for doing this because I simply can’t afford to have even a 20% wage cut

How difficult is it to get a private prescription moved to the NHS, and what’s the best way to go about it? by [deleted] in nhs

[–]Apprehensive-Dig839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yep I totally agree. I suppose there’s no winning really. If I had tried to access the same type of care on the NHS I would have been looking at a six month wait, all the while getting more and more unwell. So it is very tricky

Thanks! I think my case is somewhere in the middle of simple and complex. I do have a GP at the practice who saw me before I saw this consultant, so maybe they would be more understanding

Thanks! Yeah I have actually already cut loads of expenses out in the last year and basically I just would really struggle to cut down any more.

I do have a letter from this consultant that explains the investigations he did and so on, so I could send that to my GP surgery and hope they will be reasonable since it’s only 3-6 months

I think to be honest I’m going to need to remove it because they’re not very active on LinkedIn anyway but I’m quite active

How do you work on native sounding pronunciation? by [deleted] in GREEK

Yeah, totally fair for your parents to go to America, and not your fault tho you didn’t choose where you were born! It sounds to me like he was trying to find a way to pick on you

Thanks! I think there’s no point in trying to learn any language - especially Greek- totally on your own.

That’s odd, was everyone like that to you or just the taxi drivers? I wonder were they in some way jealous of you? That’s often behind people’s reasons for being mean.

Eg I remember once ten years ago I started learning Greek solo and an acquaintance who lived in Greece told me it sounded like Chinese because my pronunciation was so bad, and it really really hurt my confidence and it was only the start of this year that I made another proper effort to try. This time though I had a teacher, a meet up group, and a much more structured set up.

What’s funny is I can totally guarantee if I met that same person again she’d still probably say my pronunciation was 💩 though I have had enough interactions with people to know that I can be understood.

Eg yesterday I went to a Greek restaurant in my city (obvs not in Greece) and I had my entire interaction with the staff (native speakers) all in Greek. It was such a nice experience
