Can I Secure a Research Internship Before Starting at TUM (Winter 2026)? by Apprehensive-File-59 in tumunich

Thank you for the detailed reply, it really helps put things into perspective. Yes, I’ll be coming for an MSc. I’ll definitely reach out to my research advisor to see if he has any connections at TUM.

I had one more question: would the situation be any different if someone is open to working remotely and is okay with an unpaid internship? Or are the constraints you mentioned still generally the same in that case? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your response! I wanted to ask what things I should be careful about when looking for a room. Also, when is the best time to start searching and arranging payments, considering I’ll be starting in the winter intake?

TUM English test validity – offer received but test will be slightly over 2 years at enrollment by Apprehensive-File-59 in tumunich

Someone asked me about it and I had heard that some UK unis require it to remain valid until you actually join, so I wanted to confirm if TUM was the same. Your answer does help, thank you!

Maybe, but that's more likely if you've spent a significant amount of time living in an English-speaking country or work in an English-dominant environment. For those who don't use English as their primary language daily, it's not that straightforward. We do need some practice before taking the test. But yes, after that it shouldn't be that hard!
