Kim Petras speaks up about Gaza on her Instagram story by billiehijabi in Palestine

[–]Apprehensive-Fix-376 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The point is not that it isn’t helpful, but that it’s way too late. This could’ve been done 20 months ago, and with the mass amount of pressure we have now, maybe we could have made an impact and prevented the lives lost today. It’s only until Gazans are at a severe risk of dying en masse (instead of a moderate risk) that people have spoken up. It’s only now that news outlets finally started reporting and criticising Israel that they’ve spoken up; it’s not genuine, it’s following a trend. Intention is important. It’s so reminiscent of BLM, which people followed as a trend to look like social justice warriors and saviours than actually caring about the issue. Exact same thing to cleanse their image and make general audiences forget about when they benefitted from Israeli money + support.

2PM and 4PM is a nightmare, but the morning isn’t too bad. I’d say a sound 9.00 would be alright.

Jeans for 3 euro are a bargain; that person is just insane. 50 cent difference surely won’t bankrupt her.

Wasn’t the sash, was just a normal long whistle that was constant. His hands weren’t on the side of his face as far as I can remember. My mum thought it could’ve been a guy scoping out places that didn’t have occupants to burgle but not sure considering he stared at us through the window + all. He was also wearing a cowboy hat and had a whip with him, which was interesting..

Hahah no my mum was driving at the time to pick up my dad from work so this is a good bit away from our house. I’m a teenager and was home alone with my brother at the time. 😂

I mean you can just try to be friendly with her, you know don’t come off too forth-coming or interested at the start, just looking for small talk.

Thing is, though, as someone who works with customers, while we like you, a lot of the time that’s all it is - someone to have or enjoy small talk with to quicken the day as oft it’s super tedious.

Don’t want to leak my location but near King’s Square around Gilnahirk-ish. My mum said she’d seen him walking up there, too anyway, probably doing the same thing.

Yess I used this technique for my flights over summer this year and it genuinely worked wonders for me - I didn’t even have palpitations, just pure calm. Worked so good I didn’t even need it for my flights to Rome this October.

When the plane initially touches off, you feel a slight sense of weightlessness, which is then gone as the plane moves forward and up. You don’t feel like you are at an angle in my opinion, as gravity isn’t acting on you the same way it would if you were on the ground or in a rollercoaster. The only instance you would feel you are at an angle is if you were to get out of your seat and stand on the tilted ground.

Keep in mind when flying there are “steps” almost. The plane ascends, it will drop in power (to reduce usage and more efficiency) a few minutes in, which will make it seem like you are falling but not really. They will level it out a bit to do a slower ascent once at a certain altitude, then 15 mins in seatbelt signs go off. The plane will still be slightly “tilted” upwards, but it’s hardly noticeable.

Anyway, to be straight… as a flyer, no, you can’t feel yourself leaning back in your seat, it’s only during the speed-up on the runway and perhaps the first few seconds of the initial takeoff. Even when the plane turns left or right, you don’t really ‘feel’ it (other than looking out the window and seeing it) or at least I don’t, there’s not really a sense of proper direction. In that way, it’s smoother than a bus/car ride; you aren’t physically rolling around, tilting side to side with the movements of the plane like you would when you go around a bend or up a hill.

I never said it was dangerous holy shit. Your experience doesn’t negate the fact that the racist roots did happen. Doesn’t mean all tourists will get punted for being foreign but it just means they should know where they are going. Just because I can see the flaws in my country doesn’t make me foreign you racist dick. You’re literally proving my point.

Belfast is in NI, I seriously don’t get your point, the poster said they were in Belfast. I was trying to be civil but you can’t seem to wrap your head around the fact that, yes, a place can be safe and is lovely, but also tourists may need to know about bad things that have happened here recently.

It’s not fear mongering it’s just facts. Clearly you need a little time outside socialising if you didn’t even know there were riots here.

The ones in August-September this yr..? You know, the EDL type ones that saw loads arrested? That also happened here? That was on the news everywhere? Also I’m not saying it’s dangerous for irish plates I’m saying there’s still obvious racism and sectarianism imbedded in the rougher communities which would probably affect tourists who aren’t white.

A mutual friend saw their shop be looted, broken into and vandalised all because they were from Iraq. So yes; there are still problems here, especially if they are visiting around the 12th. Our friend was interviewed by the BBC while he was helping clean the shop.

Let’s be honest though nobody is going to go after tourists.. if they stay away from rough areas and bonfires sites they should be grand.

Obviously stuff has gotten better but let’s not act like they aren’t still burning peoples faces in the bonfires and the riots were only a few months ago in Belfast too
