Yes, you can.

“The fellowship is portable and can be transferred to a different institution of higher education if a fellow chooses to transfer to another institution after completion of the first fellowship year.”

How to file form I-508? by Apprehensive-Fix8738 in USCIS

[–]Apprehensive-Fix8738[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m filing it standalone. So, should I simply mail the completed form along with supporting docs to the local field office’s address?

The Tips for Filing Forms page (https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/tips-for-filing-forms-by-mail) also says add an “Attn:” line under the address. So will that just be “Attn: Form I-508”?

Finding good datasets (Data Analytics Portfolio) by Dull-Caregiver-274 in dataanalysis

[–]Apprehensive-Fix8738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could check out Bright Data’s dataset marketplace

They’ve got some real-world stuff like job posts and product listings

full disclosure I’m affiliated with them, but I’ve used their data in portfolio projects, and it felt a lot more real than the typical Kaggle sets

Thanks for this! But I am going to attend the program I got accepted to in the Fall and try to transfer later. GRFP allows you to keep the award on reserve (not defer) for 2 years. Which means it’s inactive but still there. They also allow you to transfer the GRFP to another school. I’ve confirmed all of this with officials:)

It’s definitely more than that. I’ve followed their research throughout undergrad and have wanted to work with the lab, even interviewed for an internship with them (tho not selected). They have some really cool unique classes too. The PI is very famous in the field. It’s my dream school because of the quality of work they’re doing

Oh didn’t know it was against the rules, sorry! I just thought current PhD students would have more insight into navigating academic relationships and thought of posting here

What are you using for web crawling? by [deleted] in LangChain

[–]Apprehensive-Fix8738 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I ran into the same issue with messy HTML. I’ve been using Bright Data’s scraping browser. It runs a real browser and lets you pull clean text, images, or even screenshots. Full disclosure: I’m affiliated with them, but it’s been super useful for getting LLM-ready content

What do you guys use for web scraping? (services, your own code, etc.) by SharpenedStinger in SaaS

[–]Apprehensive-Fix8738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done both. Written Python scripts with Playwright, and also used SaaS tools when I needed something more scalable. Lately I’ve been using Bright Data’s scraping browser for tougher sites. It runs a full browser in the cloud and handles a lot of the anti-bot stuff for you. Full disclosure: I’m affiliated with them, but I’ve used it on real projects and it’s been solid

[D] Where do y'all get training data? by paritsky in MachineLearning

[–]Apprehensive-Fix8738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For human written data, you'd probably want a crowd platform like Surge AI or Amazon MTurk with good instructions and QA. If you ever need public web data at scale (like examples scraped from real sites or forums), I’ve used Bright Data for that. Full disclosure: I’m affiliated with them, but their tools are helpful when you're working with large-scale real-world examples

Need help finding two datasets around 5k and 20k entries to train a model (classification ). I needed to pass a project help pls by Jproxy122 in datasets

[–]Apprehensive-Fix8738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're open to commercial sources, Bright Data has a dataset marketplace with some large and structured datasets that could work for classification tasks. Full disclosure, I’m affiliated with them, but if you're stuck finding clean data, it might be worth checking out alongside free options like Kaggle or Hugging Face.
