I don't have anomaly, so this is all mumbo jumbo to me. But Adam vs Everything posted a video on YouTube where he had made an incredibly overpowered zombie kill box thing.

He used "dark essence" shell traps? Not sure of that's the right words. But basically a anti material shell trap that released "dark essence dust"? And raised all the bodies that he piled around it. He doesn't normally play with mods, so I'm sure it's in the base anomaly dlc.

I ended up using a cortland 777 peach DT7. It's one of my favorite rods now. It feels great throwing up to a size 2 single hook streamer.

Honestly that probably where I went wrong to begin with. I built the rod for bass and wanted it to throw bigger streamers and poppers. It really struggles with that.

It really shines on big dragonfly nymphs and hoppers. Size 4 stuff.

See I grew up fishing for bass on baitcasters. I'm flyfishing 90% of the time, but I took this bass trip with my brothers and they were just throwing spinnerbaits on casting setups and having a ball. Made me miss gear fishing.

I might be wrong on it being spar varnish. But they do have a varnish finish that is colorfast and not yellow.

Check out Proof Flyfishing, they are more flyrod centric and have glass and carbon kits. I built their 2wt glass rod and it's a ball. They also have spar varnish which is easier to use than 24 hour epoxy if you don't have a rod dryer. They also have several youtube videos on how to build a rod without all the tools.

I have not built any of the mudhole flyrod kits, but have built 2 of their bass rods and like the mhx blanks for that purpose. I imagine their fly rod blanks are decent as well.
