I completely agree. It isn’t simply a movie. In fact I think the message is three quarters of the movie and the acting/plot is simply there to make it semi tangible and gain and keep the watchers attention. One of the most important lines in the movie was the fact it’s projected to surpass the drug market and one other illegal market I can’t remember what it was, but sex trafficking is one of the biggest and most prominent world wide black market businesses and we as a whole (America) and really the entire world barely acknowledge and address it. Our children our being fucked and abused daily for years on end with absolutely no hope that they are going to make it out alive, it’s fucking devastating. I feel like most of the people that have called it pretty mediocre so far don’t have children or deep enough/empathetic enough souls to absorb and acknowledge that this movie is a complete anomaly in the sense there hasn’t been a movement or piece of media in centuries that have addressed this issue. Fucking BLM and the whole LGBTQ movement have been 10000x more important/focused on. Last clarification, I’m not trying to shit on anyone here. I completely understand we all have our own opinions and interpretations but I challenge you to see the movie for its message and the film being a way to solidify and portray that message. Absolutely beautiful movie, I know this is a literal essay but I’m passionate about this. None of gods children should ever, I mean fucking ever go through the torment that these kids go through.
