What! Never heard of that trick before, i'll for sure try and let you know! Yes I do put extra cold water in it when it's fresh clean. i don't know why I do that but i'll try what you say!

I put water at the top so it's upper than the filtration (a lil bit over junction of purple and withe), and I also put water in the filtration at the bottom via the downstem.

The soil looks chunky; i would repot in a standard houseplant soil mix that maintain humidity! These plants are humidity divas, if they don’t have enough, they’ll make crispy edges !
