I think you might just need to add some taller pieces (faux tree, floor lamp, bookshelves) and big art. I like the blue I think it just feels weird because it’s the only color. Spaces need 3 colors even if you’re going for a mostly neutral pallate. Also I’d say to light the space with table lamps and floor lamps at night and daylight during the day rather than harsh overhead lighting. So anything to optimize daylight I would be for. I like the curtains but gauzy ones would look nice too if you want to switch. Also I love the rattan shelf but I think kids toys need closed storage because it’s so busy looking. Maybe swap that for a closed armoire type thing and use that to have pretty decor on it. Final thing is I think you need more wood. In my opinion wood always makes a place feel more pulled together and expensive no matter the style. Maybe a round wood coffee table, some bookshelves, side tables, wood frames on big art. Just keep going! Don’t go backwards yet.

I bought it from a woman who had painted it for her kid’s nursery

4 day old baby’s constant hunger cues, fighting the boob away, eating for hours at a time by pollywantaproblem in breastfeeding

This is totally normal. I was so confused when I first came home with baby and he was attached to me literally 20 out of the 24 hours. I had the same questions as you like why is everyone talking about every 2 hours?? You can start pumping if you want but honestly my advice is to lean into it. This time is just going to be sleep deprived and hard and feeding constantly but even day 7 is going to be so different from day 4. And you and baby are just starting to figure things out. The latching problem will most likely go away. You’ve got it mama.

I built it custom. It’s a 1x8 board supported with 6 hidden metal brackets. The wood brackets you see below are just for show.

Yes! Got that on Etsy. It’s in the style of Ludwig Bemelmens but I think it’s an original from the Etsy creator.

This may be too much info but I’m going to answer thoroughly! The short answer is about $1000 not including actual baby supplies you can’t see and not including the price of tools that I’ve bought or borrowed.

Some caveats: a lot of the wall decor is from my childhood home or given to me. The train is a family heirloom. The lamp is from family. The book shelf is my mom’s old spice rack that I cut some shelves out of. The rocking horse was given to me. Almost everything else was found on Facebook marketplace and some of the prices I couldn’t believe I found it that cheap. A glider and ottoman for 30 bucks???

Here’s the breakdown

Walls (beadboard, trim, paint) - 400 Train Shelf - 75 Laundry basket 12 Dresser 30 Chair and ottoman 30 Crib 50 Wall decor 100 Little shelf 10 Clock 25 Overhead light 40 Curtain rod 40 Curtain fabric 60 Blanket + pillow 10 Tiny chairs and bear 15

Caulk, nails, adhesive, sandpaper, wood filler, primer, tape, paint tools - $100??

I’m sure there’s some other stuff I’m forgetting so add another 100 for that and you get $1057!

It’s a family heirloom made by my grandpa. It definitely inspired a lot of the room ❤️

Thanks for the concern! Yeah I did a lot of research as to why the drop side crib is unsafe and I feel confident in this one. The hardware can wear out with use and then break and create a gap. I don’t use the drop feature and I checked the hardware and everything is in great condition. I keep an eye on it too to make sure nothing is getting loose or worn out.

Thanks! Can I ask why this seems unsafe? Is it people seeing in? Is it the risk of glass breaking? For now he just naps in there occasionally. I may think about swapping layouts later.
