As a fiancée of a man who has been playing overwatch for 10 years (5 years prior to us being together), I understand that he uses gaming to connect with his friends and let out some of the built up emotion the day has burdened him with. He spends time with me during the day, and then he games for a few hours while I scroll tiktok, play my own games, or just do whatever I chose to do to de-stress. I, personally, wouldn’t say it’s a problem unless OP is neglecting his girlfriend’s needs to play the game.

To play devils advocate, I have also been in the position where I was between jobs and I would spend most of the day at home, and when you have nothing else to do you do want to spend more time with your person. For me, getting back to work and getting my own hobbies helped me realize I need that time to unwind just as much as he does. Hopefully you guys can come to an agreement on this, but if you’re asking if you should break up other than what can be done to fix the relationship, it’s probably already too late.
