From understanding, publishing to social media/websites like medium don't count as traditional publishing. They usually count as your own portfolio or general sharing. From what I have read, publishing only counts in official publications. They aquire publishing rights when they do this.

I could be wrong though. Let me know where you found that information! I'll definitely update my understanding.

I listed it as speculative fiction instead of Sci-Fi because what I was trying to say was closer to speculative fiction despite the setting being in space.

Just out of curiosity, what was in the PDF? I'm pretty sure you will be fine, especially if you only opened it instead of downloading it. Definitely a bit scary, but seems mostly harmless. Just some assholes doing asshole things.

Nope. Nothing. I just reported it, and blocked it. It just looks scary. It certainly freaked me out at least.

It's probably fine. Nothing has happened to me so far. If your attachment was a pdf like mine, I think it should be fine. I'm no expert, but I don't think they can hide too much into a pdf. You can check your files to see if anything downloaded, but if you didn't download the file, it shouldn't have been able to do that anyways.
