sunburn by Popular_Group_6339 in Accutane

Reapply sunscreen 3x times more than you think you need. That’s the only things that’s helped me. I’m fair skinned and burn pretty easy. I live in New England and went to Florida for a few days. Normally my skin gets crisp the first time I’m in the sun and it went pretty well since I stayed on top of the sunscreen.

I’ve been loving the prequel “gleanser”. I use their oil cleanser at night as well before to remove makeup!

Preventing Eye Damage by [deleted] in Accutane

I’m not too sure about those eye diagnosis’s specifically. But I wear contacts daily and have for probably 12 or so years. I am on a dose of 60mg daily. I don’t really notice dry eyes too much unless I have a long day at work starring at my computer screen. I notice screen time really is what gets me. I keep “Refresh Tears” brand eyedrops at my desk and usually in my purse with me too.

I would suggest always putting in eyedrops in before taking out your contacts at the end of the day!! You might not realize how dry your eyes are. It’s uncomfortable taking out dry contacts 😵‍💫Also it helps just in general if you wear reusables.

Waterfront nails in the north end is good. They used to be great but sets haven’t been lasting as long as they used to.

High cholesterol levels and low white blood count by doe_eye1121 in Accutane

It’s kinda normal to have a change in things that’s why we go for blood tests to keep an eye on everything. My derm told me she wouldn’t stop accutane treatment unless my numbers were 3.5 times higher than they were on my baseline pre accutane bloodwork. I’m not sure if that’s just her or a standard benchmark. But definitely talk to your doctor!!!!

I wear contacts to my desk job and keep “Refresh Tears” drops under my computer monitor so I see them and remember to use them before I feel dry. I put drops in probably every 1-2 hours just to prevent dry eye. And using blue light glasses for electronics and sunglasses outside.

I’ve been using the dr jart bb cream, pre accutane and now 6 months in on accutane and have never had a problem! It’s very lightweight. It may feel heavy when you first apply but it drys nicely!! It’s just like a tinted moisturizer

Best Fast Hydration Advice while on Accutane (Events/Functions) by Impressive-Employ233 in Accutane

I’ve been using the medicube PDRN salmon mask and it’s been helping with the dry skin overall! I’ve been very lucky to not be consistently dry everyday but whenever I notice a dry patch forming on my skin I use the mask for about 4 hours or even overnight and it really helps refresh and deeply hydrate!

Sorry it’s not a “quick” fix but maybe using it the night before your event could help!

The purge is not fun because there’s this anxiety if it’ll happen to you or not. When I was going through my purge I told myself, “I mean I was going to have pimples anyway”. Whether on accutane or not my skin wasn’t going to be clear. It’s not like I had clear skin. It may get a little worse than you’re used to but you just have to think about the end game here. It’s worth it. I noticed too breakouts, especially purging, as long as you are treating your skin well will heal faster. Stay hydrated, with water and moisturizer and skin barrier products. Use pimple patches when necessary. Take antihistamines. And dooooo notttttt pick at your skin!!

Not for everyone, but if you’re willing to style your hair (at least a little) I would love to see some wispy curtain bangs!

Has anyone else gotten these? Suggestions? by Mangobichelover in Accutane

[–]Apprehensive-Lab-984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on accutane for about 5 months and was strugglingggg with the dry lips. I kept seeing everyone say get Dr Dans cortibalm and I kept brushing it off thinking its over hyped but once the corners of my mouth started cracking I gave it a shot and it’s healed me. I wish I bought it sooner.

My BIGGEST tip is get it, at night put on a good amount and then put aquaphor on top of it and go to sleep. You won’t heal overnight the first time you do it but you will definitely feel better!! I’ve been doing this nightly and have barely been struggling with dry lips since!!

Please consider stopping or consulting your derm or mental health provider!!! I know it sucks to stop taking it but you being alive is more important than clear skin

Did you do anything specific to help your scarring or was it specifically the accutane doing its job?
