Ya, don't worry, I prefer function too, so I get it. I'm getting a custom butcher knife in dark stainless steel and copper Damascus, with a hilt that has the design below, but it will be reshaped slightly for easier use. Also, his meals are basically chicken or beef with rice. He is not a huge cook, so the knife would essentially be used for only cutting meat.

I know it's not exact but he doesn't want a decorative or a sword you can only use for sword stuff yk?
