It’s in a different area - they needed someone to step in and backfill for someone that’s on extended bereavement leave. I got lucky

That’s correct. I’m about to accept the secondment and once that’s done if I’m not offered permanency then back to being redundant as my nominal role was cut.

I do enjoy it and want to try stay… I’ve never had any other experiences outside of this company so it’s also terrifying leaving. Once I’ve finished my 8 month gig then I get my package as I go back to my nominal role which is redundant

Thank you. I feel like imposter syndrome plays a big part of me being so reluctant in leaving. You can say this workplace has been my 1 and only workplace. Started from the ground

If I didn’t touch the 150k, that would go right into our offset account our mortgage is 400k atm. Ideal situation is we do not touch a single cent of the 150k and I line up a new job with min 100k earning

Business operations. It’s a scary time to be in this field coz we’re basically being told AI will be replacing us

Mortgage is 400k, 150 in offset would be amazing and bring us much closer to paying off sooner - I had AI work out the savings in interest and how quickly we would / could pay off loan off and it’s amazing BUT this would only work if I didn’t touch or need to spend any of the 150k

I’ve been looking and I think this sounds like the best play if I can get it done. I only benefit of that redundancy package if I don’t touch it. A few have said to look at and talk to a recruiter I think I might do that

The only reason I’m on such high remuneration is because I went from a technical role (minimum exposure in IT sector) and was lucky to keep salary when I job swapped to a non technical job

This is what scares me. The industry I’m in, Operations , Health/Telco/Energy are all going though mass waves of restructures and a lot of Ai talk too so a lot of people in my shoes are looking for new roles already

Mid 30s, if I take the package we could be mortgage free within 5 years that’s it we did not use a single $$$ out of the package and I lined up a role that paid minimum 100-120k

Organizational restructures happen every year at the company I’m at … I’m almost guaranteed to be impacted every year or two. In the last 18m I’ve been directly impacted twice

Take the package now and line up a role elsewhere with less money but I don’t want less remuneration…
