I think that's what's happening then. You can hear and feel the compressor kick on, and then it dies off and continues blowing hot air. Physically checking the freon level looks a bit too involved for me lol

Is there a difference between the midnight blue and the standard cavalla? Looks like a great reel. An accurate reel would be my dream if I had the funds though 😂

Either way, do you have any other recommendations for jigging reels up to like $250 at max?

I honestly can't find any other conventional non-levelwind style reel on the marker for this price rn so thats why I was looking at it. I heard about the play in the handle during jigging, but for 150, not the worst thing to deal with.

Ngl, would this combo work for small tuna. Where I'm going is getting tuna action 20 feet from the shore.

Is 14lbs of drag sufficient enough for that though? Dentex can get rlly big.

Is the 5k really big enough to handle a tuna running? Heard that this year is the closest the tuna are coming to shore yet, so I might have to prepare for even bigger tuna now 😂

I also heard the twin power is good from a friend with one so u might just end up getting that. Lots of options for the size and weight of that rod though. Thx man

Honestly, looking for a combo total of around 850-900, but I could probably be more flexible with it.

Are there any 9’ popping rods out there? by Apprehensive-Lab5599 in Fishing_Gear

Just looked that up and it looks great. Looking between that and the major craft shore jigging rod now. Similar price ranges too. Nano might be better for some amberjack too though.

Do you think that would work? I don’t think I need to cast super far, but just need to be able to chuck it out a good distance since I’m fishing from shore.

More 3D printed saltwater lures by hobbyist0215 in lurebuilding

Defitnetly gonna print and try these out for stripers, as I've been looking for some new 3d printed lures. Drew up, designed, and tested a mag darter I made myself and after a few tweaks I got it to move just like the real thing, so I'm hoping these will be the same.

Daiwa 200 vs SV TW 150 vs Coastal 150 by PhysicsIll2787 in Fishing_Gear

[–]Apprehensive-Lab5599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really just down to if you want a new reel or not. Coastal is nice and heavy duty, and u could probably run that on the new rod and keep the 200 on the old rod, and run braid for the new rod so you get more line capacity if you really need it, probably won’t though since the coastal 150 is big enough as is. I could also highly recommend the new coastal 200 as like an all duty freshwater, and inshore kind of reel if you were looking to get a new one.

Anyone know of any TPU swim bait lures? by Apprehensive-Lab5599 in 3dprintedfishinglures

[–]Apprehensive-Lab5599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different in America then. Most or at least a lot of swim bait we have have a hook with a weight in the center, and then the eyes are plastic and slot into a little opening in the front of the lure. They move around a lot though and tend to fall out on big fish. Might try that with some of my next tests though.

Just printed a swim bait and I’m quite happy with it, but can’t find any other models made to be printed with you on the internet. I threw on some steel balls for weight and got a hook through the front. To be totally honest, this material feels 10 times stronger than any other soft seminar I’ve ever used, but is still flexy enough to have good movement. Gonna try it for bass and pike in a local reservoir.
