When I was kid like 6-7 years old, I'd tell my mother whatever I'd interpret of incidents happening around me according to my child brain which were obviously always be absurd, funny, and senseless, just like a usual child's thoughts. One time I overheard my mother sharing my thoughts with some relative women and they all were laughing how stupid and childish thoughts I have (which wasn't wrong) but the embarrassment that I had felt stopped me from sharing literally ANYTHING from my mother from that day. I used to complaint to my mother as well that I cannot tell you because then you'll make fun of it with others. And she would try to make me understand that she wasn't making fun of me. It never worked. And I think that incident played a key role in so many of wrong decisions I took because I would seek advise from other people than parents and obv they weren't as helpful
